Platinum Contributing Member Jimmy Snacks Posted October 6 Platinum Contributing Member Share Posted October 6 (edited) Yep…bad news. https://www.facebook.com/100053751887079/posts/pfbid0VNuZG8hJ7ghcTyLX7YhurHw2EvWqU2G4VbG33q9brmoZq6DcccutiUzaJ7LBxdZpl/? Folks. This is the real deal. In no uncertain text I want you to understand the severity that could be at play with Milton. The time for action and preparations is now for all of central and south-central Florida. Milton is now forecast to landfall as a major, Category 3 hurricane. *If this forecast verifies, this could be the greatest hurricane threat that the Tampa Bay area has faced in it's modern history* I do not dictate evacuation orders and the NHC, local emergency management, local officials have planned for this for a long time. If it gets to that point a large scale evacuation could be ordered in this worst case scenario. If you have followed me for a long time, you know I call a spade a spade and weather as I see it honestly and clearly. If you are in Tampa Bay or the Tampa area, you MUST watch this closely. IF the track of the center goes just NW of the city of Tampa, placing the Bay area in the peak storm surge on the right quadrant -- we are talking a storm surge maybe double what occurred in Helene with extensive, long term power and communication outages. Last time I had a feeling this bad in my gut about a forecast was the Wednesday before the Mayfield/west KY tornado in Dec. 2021. It just 'felt' then something very bad was going to happen and for whatever reason I have the same feeling now. A hurricane tracking NE like this near Tampa Bay is a worst case scenario for central Florida. The 1921 Tampa Bay hurricane had 10 feet plus of storm surge which the eye hit Tarpon Springs. I don't say that to scare you but to inform you. It is possible significant mandatory evacuations could be in order of which many have not seen in their life before. IF the forecast holds and the eye goes just north of Tampa, it is a worst case scenario for inundation, possibly significant to extreme into extremely populated areas. I want to stress the forecast TRACK may still change and is FAR from set in stone. We saw this with Ian in 2022 remember. So if the eye went to Sarasota, then a drastic difference, minimal storm surge in Tampa Bay area and the bad surge is Sarasota down to Ft. Myers and Naples. So subtle track changes mean BIG differences in that. But a "worst case" outcome for Tampa surge is real and possible. Let's see what the data looks like tomorrow. If you are anywhere in central Florida along the I-4 corridor from Daytona Beach to Tampa, you should be preparing tonight, Sunday, and Monday topping off your hurricane supplies. Want to stress nailing down the track is key here to who sees specifically the worst weather. Edited October 6 by Jimmy Snacks

Just take it from the Ukraine / Israel war funds It actually comes from fema which has nothing to do with that nor would they take from that. They would just increase the government agencies budget, FEMA, through borrowing when it’s needed. Either Mike Johnson or the president will increase the money needed by FEMA when they get low on cash.

Money’s money.....cut out whatever waste so people can get the help they need. Once a disaster is declared FEMA writes the checks for the immediate disaster need. After disaster declaration ends then the task switches to long term disaster recovery needs. Help comes from the local and state that bills FEMA for the recovery. So if people aren’t getting the help they need they need to look at their local and state officials as they are in charge. I don’t think there needs to be a large disaster response team full of gov employees just sitting around doing nothing until a disaster happens. FEMA is just a check writer agency Edited October 6 by BOHICA
ActionfigureJoe
After years of war through several administrations, America finds itself in the same position as the USSR following their Afghanistan adventure. There’s no longer money left to fund fully social service programs. I think these natural disasters and cracks in the system will reveal the beginning of the coming collapse. What put the USSR over the edge was trying to finance a widespread empire, a costly war, 2 nuclear accidents involving nuclear power plants with one being a major catastrophe, and a major multi year drought. Welcome to paradise. Edited October 6 by ActionfigureJoe

Platinum Contributing Member Jimmy Snacks Posted October 6 Platinum Contributing Member Share Posted October 6 BREAKING: Milton now a Hurricane. Ahead of schedule. 80mph winds sustained 988mb pressure. I have every reasonable exception this thing is going to get close to or at rare Category 5 status as soon as Monday night or Tuesday. That will be its peak intensity (4 or 5) then we will await and see if/hopefully/how much it weakens slightly coming into landfall late Wednesday.
