Platinum Contributing Member SnowRider Posted May 8, 2017 Platinum Contributing Member Share Posted May 8, 2017 At the EPA I'm sure the Trumpers like Ben, Moto, and others think Hillary would have done the same thing Washington (CNN)The Environmental Protection Agency dismissed half the scientists who serve on a science review board that plays a crucial role in the work the EPA does, CNN has learned Monday. The EPA relies heavily on the scientific guidance of the group when it comes to air and water quality when making policy decisions. An EPA spokesman told CNN there are a total of 18 positions on this particular advisory board, and nine of those scientists were not renewed following the end of their three-year term. There is a notable ideological shift at the agency under the Trump administration and EPA head Scott Pruitt. Some in the scientific community say the dismissal of such a large number of scientists from the EPA's Board of Scientific Counselors is further evidence of that. http://www.cnn.com/2017/05/08/politics/epa-scott-pruitt-board/index.html

You want me to start posting up all the theories on global warming that have not come true? Everything from it was sending us into an ice age in the 70's to vast amounts of coastlines should be currently underwater and Hurricanes would be getting worse and worse. Not one of those "theories" have come true. Is it possible those people will be replaced by scientists with countering theories on MMCC? Keeps science involved but don't fit your agenda so you would still cry about it. Was it a theory of yours that Hillary was a lock to win? Not one of those "theories" have come true. We are talking about water, air, etc You look like the typical dumb Dumper trying to defend this shit. Repeal - any new ideas on progress? I can't wait for history to look back on you buffoons and laugh Hey - look at this Skidmark - $15 trillion invested and look what they say Big investors urge Trump to stick with Paris climate accord President Donald Trump walks from Marine One across the South Lawn to the White House in Washington, Sunday, May 7, 2017, as he returns from Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, N.J. (AP Photo/Carolyn Kaster) OSLO (Reuters) - Investors with more than $15 trillion of assets under management urged governments led by the United States to implement the Paris climate accord to fight climate change despite U.S. President Donald Trump's threats to pull out. "As long-term institutional investors, we believe that the mitigation of climate change is essential for the safeguarding of our investments," according to the letter signed by 214 institutional investors and published on Monday. "We urge all nations to stand by their commitments to the Agreement," it said. Signatories of the letter included the California Public Employees Retirement System and other pension funds from Sweden to Australia. The letter was addressed to governments of the Group of Seven, before a summit in Italy on May 25-26, and to leaders of the Group of 20 who will meet in Germany in July. Trump is due to announce in coming days whether he will carry out a campaign threat to "cancel" the 2015 Paris Agreement, which aims to limit a rise in temperatures by phasing out use of fossil fuels. The European Union has been scrambling to persuade Trump, who wants to bolster the U.S. coal industry, to stick with the accord. His advisers have warned of legal problem if Washington stays but waters down its climate commitments. "Climate change action must be an urgent priority in the G20 countries, especially the United States, whose commitment is in question," Mindy Lubber, head of the non-profit organization Ceres, which helped coordinate the letter, said in a statement. Stephanie Pfeifer, CEO of the Institutional Investors Group on Climate Change in Europe, which also coordinated the letter, said nations should shift to a low-carbon economy "regardless of what the U.S. administration does". Separately, senior government officials from almost 200 nations will meet in Bonn from May 8-18 to work on detailed rules for the Paris Agreement. https://www.yahoo.com/news/big-investors-urge-trump-stick-paris-climate-accord-032016945--sector.html
