That is one way to help the poor to not be affected by rising electric rates….  People have been concerned here about poor affording energy.  This kind of solves that so I imagine many are supportive of this here????

Why stop there, make it on everything.

Fucking retard doesn't know when he's being played.

People are concerned about poor and middle class energy costs on freedomsledder.  Been said many times.  Like rich aren’t paying their fairshare of grid maintenance and stuff if they make their own energy and the tax credits the rich get is stealing from the poor and middle class.  Figured this policy would make many happy here?  As the poor and middle class have the cheapest energy compared to the rich who get to pay more

Riding electric rates you say. How they gonna charge their cars

Kwh rate is going down by a third….  😂 going to be cheaper to charge an electric car than it was….   Fixed rate is going up, especially on those that can afford it…. That rate is the same wether you have an EV or not and only based on income.  Then the per kWh rate is going down by a third from what it is now….

The plan would break monthly bills in two parts: The fixed-income rate, plus a reduced usage charge based on consumption.

Under the proposal, it would cost as little as $15 a month for low-income households and up to $85 more per month for households making more than $180,000 a year.

While that specific cost would go up, the actual electricity rate would go down by a third. It means customers could control their bill somewhat - if they're able to reduce electricity use.

The income-based bill proposal is part of the companies' compliance with legislation passed by the California state government last year requiring these types of plans for utilities.

Poor and middle class get to pay less for their energy they use?  Is this a bad thing to you or something?

How about everyone pay the same and the government stops Pushing an agenda, not to mention vote buying

Yes, the 47%ers should pay something instead of whining about the actual taxpayers.

But should the rich pay the same amount as the 47%ers, what ever that maybe?

how do you feel about tax credits and deductions that the rich get currently to lessen their income tax burden and get it closer to what the 47% pay?

I know!!!!  Some people criticize and get pissed at others tax credits and situations that allow them to pay less.

I think everything should be a use tax or sales tax.  Income shouldn’t be taxed

No legislative body is going to vote for a simplified tax system as it would take away a major source of campaign revenue. You have a better chance of getting through term limits or a bill that holds legislators to the same rules as everyone else.
