It isn't hunter dan, sport shooter bob, and scared to death for self defense ' sarah with registerred weapons going out and mowing down schools and shopping malls. these are the people your gun bans and overreach effect, not the above who are the real problem. an armed soceity is a polite soceity. by in large these people are cowards. if they know theres a good chance who there shooting at can shoot back it changes the dynamic completely. proper education and effective training for gun owners is the key to it all. along with psychological evaluation and a look into there medical/criminal history. will it stop them all ? no. nothing will. you want to deter violent criminals ? arm the would be victims and make sure they know how to use them. this especially applies to women who sometimes find themselves at the mercy of a complete phycho who don't give a shit about pieces of paper. its the great equalizer. the right to self defense should not be up for debate. it should be a human right to all citizens of any country as long as you are mentally sound and have shown a history of being law abiding and good intentioned. the end.
