Capitalism vs Socialism

I noticed that there is nothing here that compared North Korea to South Korea, only a few here that hate the US and it's economy.  Astonishing.  This picture shows the perfect contrast in economies and what happens.  There is no denying it.

The problem is capitalism isn't working that great for alot of workers in the last 20 -30 years. Here's a few quotes from billionaires themselves.

“Capitalism, I acknowledge, has been good to me,” Mark Benioff, the co-founder of Salesforce, wrote in The New York Times in November. “But capitalism as it has been practiced in recent decades — with its obsession on maximizing profits for shareholders — has also led to horrifying inequality.”

“The biggest issue for entrepreneurs, for capitalists, for those of us who are successful is, if someone is only going to be paid by the hour ... they’re always going to fall behind,” Cuban told Recode Decode with Kara Swisher at the 2019 SALT Conference in Las Vegas in June. “And income distribution is … [the] disparity is going to get wider and wider.”

So, said Cuban, “We as entrepreneurs have got to make a point to give stock to everybody that works for us. Period. End of story. No exceptions, because that’s the only way people are going to get any type of equity appreciation.”

“Capitalism isn’t bad. It’s when capitalists don’t pay attention” that “bad things can happen,” Cuban said. “Our country is a lot like running a business ... you can’t just look at the short term in the immediate aspect, you’ve got to look at the long term.”

Do something you love and you will never work another day in your life.

I've always hated that saying because there's very few people who can say that. It's one thing for people to say they "like" their job, "love" their job....not so much.

That’s the biggest load of shit I hate when people say that. Anyone that gets into a line of work they enjoyed as a hobby slowly starts to hate the job. I see it with all my trades friends and myself that’s why most of my buds that worked as mechanics got out and moved on they started hating the work.

When you don't allow companies to fail, then you are faking capitalism.  The whole notion of "to big to fail" is bullshit, but many here fell for it.

Ever hear the phrase, "The grass isn't always greener on the other side - it's just another shade of brown."

Well, that's what I tell anyone who says Capitalism is a bad thing.  I hear what people are saying in that it's all about shareholders, profits, and ultimately the rich getting richer.  But people do have a choice - work in that environment and make a salary that you're happy with, or find something else.  Nobody is holding anyone back from trying to make a go of something on their own.  We're getting a taste of socialism with the "free money" during COVID and look what's happening - open your eyes.  People are content sitting on their asses with their handouts.

Capitalism is not a bad thing, it's just not working that well for alot of Americans like it did 30+ years ago. Wealth inequality happened because Capitalists and politicians became greedy, heartless pigs.

We had a taste of Socialism 13 years ago when taxpayers had to bail out the banks. Talk about the ultimate hypocrisy.........the ultimate capitalists had to rely on socialism. :lmao:

I know this vid is simplistic but it's a pretty good example of what's been going on now for quite some time.

Bullshit....we still have the most upwardly mobile society in the world. People cross oceans endure trips across a desert to have the opportunity you forsake.  Look at our Asian population,  why are they the highest average income per race yet one of the newer minority classes to the USA...it's because they believe in education,  hard work and entrepreneurship. They came here broke and are killing it. You have self limiting beliefs that keep you from success.

Look at the trades right now...you can make a really good living as an electrician, plumber or carpenter....OR you could gain experience and expertise and own your own business and become a millionaire.

How about politicians and corps. who have crossed oceans to exploit slave labor? That shit wasn't happening 30+ years ago.

Listen dipshit, I've been a plumber for 35 years and have my own business, this has nothing to do with me personally. I'm just not ignorant like you are, you would have to be a fool if you don't see what has slowly happened in this country for the last 30 years. This country is not as great for alot of people as you would like to believe it is. Where would you like to start?

That's not socialism, it's just more capitalism.

All the shitty parts about capitalism aren't socialism

Lets try this conversation in reverse...Why do you think communism will make people happier. What are the benefits of it to you?

What do you think you were put on this earth to do? Work adds purpose,  that is if you choose Work that is rewarding.  Remember it is for you to choose. Let's assume that noggin gets his jollies from teaching or instruction...I could name a dozen jobs that aren't actual teaching/education jobs,  but in industry. Find your intersection of hard skills and soft skills and work will be rewarding.  If you don't work you will lack self worth and never become your greatest you.

BTW I no longer work 80 hour weeks (well maybe sometimes) but I could retire tomorrow. Why don't I? Humans need purpose or they wither.

Most don't have the intestinal fortitude to accomplish much on their own.  That is who you are debating here.

Fact.  It’s really as simple as that.  And now, the left has convinced them that others have stolen this “intestinal fortitude” from them are forcing them to take jobs that are so, so far beneath them.

It’s so stupid it’s just plain funny.

Last I checked, it was easy to go get a business license and show the world what you are really made of!  But, oops, there’s an excuse for the st too, “I don’t have the millions needed to start a multi trillion dollar company!!” This excuse is the reason they should be happy that somebody else has decided to pay them anything at all.

This moron thinks you will get more for doing less.  We've gonna take back our means of production.

Yah that's what it looks like is happening.

It only took Bezo's a 100K loan from mom and dad to get set.  These morons can match that right?  Can we get a whoa bundy.

You sound bitter ... time for another tampon?  Better yet, get out of your parents' basement and go make something of yourself & stop playing the victim card you pussy.  You realize Bezos started in his garage after quitting his regular job?  I heard Cuba has a great thing going - maybe you can borrow a raft from one of their refugees and float on down there and begin your new life in Utopia.

The question I would ask,  did you get poorer because Bezos got richer? Do you believe it's a zero sum game?

Did the shareholders all make money? Were they not enriched? Dont forget that almost every 401k, or IRA has shares of Amazon in it.

Did he bring you more product to choose from? Did the cost you the goods you purchase go down?

If all of this is true? How are you harmed by his wealth.

Bezos is rich because of him fucking tax paying Americans. Amazon has gotten billions in subsidies and his workers he pays shit are leeching of the welfare system. So yes we are harmed by his wealth.
