Matt Posted March 16, 2021 Share Posted March 16, 2021 (edited) Ice core samples from Greenland that were drilled a mile+ down through the ice into the earth substrate revealed what these scientists are calling a shocking discovery, that Greenland, quite recently on a geologic scale, housed a boreal forest. This means that due to natural earth cycles, Greenland has melted before as a totally normal occurrence. 1. I thought they already knew this, or maybe the surprise is just how recent this was. 2. But you still need to be super duper afraid that the planet might transition to a state similar to one with historical precedent.
