Matt Posted February 11, 2021 Share Posted February 11, 2021 For this social media post, Disney+ and LucasFilm have canceled a Mandalorian spin-off show starring Gina Carano, and fired her from The Mandalorian. “Jews were beaten in the streets, not by Nazi soldiers but by their neighbors…even by children,” Carano wrote Instagram. “Because history is edited, most people today don’t realize that to get to the point where Nazi soldiers could easily round up thousands of Jews, the government first made their own neighbors hate them simply for being Jews. How is that any different from hating someone for their political views.” The most offensive thing about this post is the use of a period instead of a question mark at the end of the last sentence. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this statement! It is 100% true. Is it a tired trope of a comparison, maybe, but that's certainly not an offense worth firing someone over, especially since it's not at all a standard that's applied equally. Meanwhile her co-star Pedro Pascal can post images of illegal immigrants being detained and equate that to Nazism and he's a media darling.
