Breaks on a 2003 MXz 500 zx chassis

You can try to flush the system if it got dirt/water in it and clean out the master cyl really well.  I'd guess it's probably a damaged O-ring in the caliper.  You can take it apart and clean it or, just buy another if flushing doesn't work.

Do you apply brakes and they stay applied or do they apply themselves ? How do you unapply them ?

Each time I apply the brake it's gets a little bit stiffer until eventually its locked up and won't release.

Take apart the caliper. Shouldn't be that bad of a job.

On my sled it was a better deal to just buy a new one.  By the time you buy pads, pistons, seals, and a bearing you might as well just buy the whole caliper for the same price.

Just stop the old fashion way throw your feet out of the tunnel and dig your heels in the snow.

I’d say a new caliper is in order if you don’t wanna use your feet.

He’s a sailor and should have an anchor to toss out.

A rusty caliper piston takes a few minutes to fix.

My buds MXZ 500 had the same issue, its up in the brake reservoir on the handlebars, the return valve is clogged so when the engine warms the brake fluid and you hit the brakes it's not allowing the fluid to return and therefore puts pressure on the caliper.

Yep that's probably it. Great way to start a bonfire if needed just make sure you have insurance first

Make sure the small pin hole in the master cylinder isn’t blocked

This my 2000 did this last year caliper was on fire.

The small hole in the master cylinder was plugged had to use a pin to clean it out.

What hole are you referring to?

This is a 2001 break reservoir that I just dug out but you can see the second hole that's pin sized
