He actually improved the lives of the very poor in Cuba, and he saw to it that Cubans had excellent healthcare.

What's wrong with that?  His number count?  Clearly one would be enough.

"Praising" may be a strong word.  Like most "lifetime dictators" they start off decent with good ideas and implementation, then, they lose focus and power and controls kick in.  Again...all of this is "comparably" speaking.  These countries are usually so fucked up from the get-go with idiocy and corruption, they need some type of structure.  Even if it is seen as less than a palatable structure by most of us.

I could go on here but it's a weird intellect/race/hierarchy thing.  And of course, we all put the European (whitey) at the top of the measurement scale.

Yeah,  Happens a lot with corruption.

Who knows more about the plight of the Cubans than a rich Chicago hack and an anarchist who's employer is all he despises.

I gotta start a book...

Loves Castro.  But Reagan is treasonous.  You really can't make this shit up.

No one is saying Castro was good. He has succeeded in his own way for his people. He was still a commie but being on his own island sorta isolated him from day to day Soviet bullshit.

Great skyline.

id have to say that america's refusal to normalize relations, or at least make the attempt, has done just as much or even more to damage cuba as castro did over his years. trump said during the campaign that he'd go back to the old way of doing things by undoing what obama has done to help normalize relations. hopefully this was just another one of trump's manipulations to suck in the dumb fucks. i'm guessing it was.

Good post and "praising" would be a strong word.

True points.  But why the fuck is it up to us to save Cuba?  Or any other shit-ass country that can't get out of their own way?  IT IS NOT.  And Cuba's proximity to us doesn't in any way make us responsible for their upkeep.

Fact is, like most of these tyrant/dictator ran countries, most of the citizens are either happy with the way it is going, or, they are indifferent.  Just because we see it as "horrid conditions" doesn't mean they do.  If they did....they'd do something about it themselves.

It isn't, but in 1959 with us and the Soviets vying for client states it would have been huge for us to score Cuba, it might have avoided the Bay of Pigs, the Missile Crisis, the Mariel boat lift, etc.

But the good news is we got Gitmo and we filled it with muslim jihadist, so fuck you Castro!!

Right....but not all of them.  And why the fuck do we have to be the continued "dumping grounds" for these people or any other seeing to rid themselves of their country only to come here and shit on ours.  Maybe if their "customs" were so great that they feel they can come here disapprove and discard ours, they should have stayed put.

"This isn't what I meant."   :lmao:

It's hard to gauge castros actual effect on Cuba when the U.S. Put trade embargoes on them. Anyone that tries to distance themselves from the world banks get shit on. Let's also not forget that the US had built a full plan to brainwash the U.S. Public into thinking that they were in imminent danger from Cuba as a means of public acceptance for invasion

All he had to do was hold some free and open elections and stop killing people he didn't like and things would have been a lot different :)
