"I am not a private owner. That's the competition in this country. The free enterprise and to be able to make sure that what you offer the public meets the needs of the public," Goodman, an independent, told CNN's Anderson Cooper. "Right now, we're in a crisis health-wise, and so for a restaurant to be open or a small boutique to be open, they better figure it out. That's their job. That's not the mayor's job." She needs to set the standards for restaurants and bars, gyms, beauty salons, and all the rest of the businesses that are currently deemed non-essential. This is complete incompetence. We are headed to Vegas next week. We will be there for 2 days before we put the moho in storage for the summer. I talked to the company who I use to wash and wax my motorhome. They are deemed non essential at this time. They told me they expect the governor and mayor will lift restrictions on May 1. Julie the owner told me “all we are waiting for is the gov and mayor to give us the guidelines we need to meet before we return to work”. “We are hoping to get those guidelines any day now so we can be prepared to reopen on May 1”. I assumed the mayor was working on those guidelines. I guess not. Anyway, im scheduled for a wash and wax on May 1. Wow. That was incredible. Cooper did a good job with Mayor Goodman. She made a few good points but fell far short on the responsibility part. Her responsibility it to set expectations. If she cant do that she needs to go. She shrugged every last drop of responsibility for how Vegas operates. She is the mayor, she has every casino owner on her speed dial.
