Skidude600 Posted March 26, 2020 Share Posted March 26, 2020 As far as I am concerned there is plenty of blame to go around. If this disaster was so predictable why wasn't EVERYONE prepared? Why was every state, city, municipality and hospital relying on the Fed govt to provide the necessary equipment to fight this virus. They should have had their own stockpiles especially the hospitals. Just my opinion. Why you would put all your faith in the Feds is beyond me, especially given the state of affairs at that level for the last 20 years. This is more about keeping the bare minimum in inventory because the cost of stockpiling and maintaining equipment is more than the bean counters are willing to allow. Manufacturing isn't the only area that uses "lean" to control costs. Hospitals are a business and they are run like a business, sometimes at the expense of patient care. Forgive me if I don't cut them any slack. This has been a regular topic of conversation I've had with my wife, who works for a major healthcare provider in Michigan. On the flip side of this hospitals, especially the doctors, nurses and support personnel, have done an extraordinary job of coping the best they can with the limited resources they have. Just for the record I am in no way excusing Trump and his cronies for their part in this. Like I said a lot of people dropped the ball.
