Jordan Peterson, individual vs collective responsibility

See these are typically snippets from a much more broad conversation. Knowing the conversation gives perspective. I’ve watched as certain media personalities attempt to malign Jordan by doing just that.

The context to the first quote is that he believes men get paid more because they have superior intellect. The context of the second quote is that he was arguing that women need a stable monogamous relationship with a man in order to be successful. The media doesn't know how to handle any intellectual. Zizek, on the other hand, wiped the floor with him.

Jordan has never said men have superior intellects. Where do you get this shit? The vast majority of successful men have a stable, monogamous relationship. Why would women be any different?

They get them from radical left wing memes....that make almost no sense even for radical left wing memes.

I’ve already seen this movie so, enjoy!  :lmao:

Here, I found the full quote for you.

“Women get paid less than man, and it’s good that that’s the case. This is because men are inferior to women, and therefore we should make more money based on our superior intellect. In fact, I don’t think women should even work at all. They should stay home and make babies.”

"Frozen served a political purpose: to demonstrate that a woman did not need a man to be successful. Anything written to serve a political purpose (rather than to explore and create) is propaganda, not art. Frozen was propaganda, pure and simple. Beauty and the Beast (the animated version) was not." -Jordan Peterson

Free publicity - snowflakes unite in triggered rage online because of....wait for it.....Peterson trolling them with his opinion of a children’s animated movie

Picking Beauty and the Beast as the movie to praise was a slick move. I had a professor try to convince our class that movie was sexist in college, and she had us read a bunch of articles supporting her stance, then had us write a 2 page response. I wrote 2 pages on how it wasn't sexist and that it was bizarre how many people were trying to claim it was.

I honestly don’t understand the outrage against him by the left.  It’s weird.  He’s an intelligent, educated and articulate man willing to converse in a civil manner with anybody who wants to debate his thoughts and ideas.  Somebody like this is now the enemy for the left?

Just how enlightened are these people exactly?

I don’t see it and I’ve watched quite a few of his clips, debates, lectures and interviews.  But, I can see how his inability to sugar coat and suspend facts and realities is so upsetting to so many now.

His opinions, ie those cited upthread, are generally derived from an old and dying sense of tradition and aren't particularly shocking or revelatory.

What I find interesting and hilarious are the way he justifies his antiquated views. I mean, the lobsters on prozac thing is probably the perfect example.

They almost all took the angle that the movie portrayed Gaston as the ideal man. A handsome, muscular, overly confident dude. In the story he didn't get the girl, his posse were clearly caricatures of idiot followers, and he's basically written off as a pompous ass. If anything the movie was mocking the exact form of hollow jockish masculinity they were trying to claim it supported. It was some serious reaching.

Funny how this right wing hero left a country that most Trumpsters would call socialist and sought treatment in a communist country.

How is he a “right wing hero”?

Why do you think you can question anybody else’s hypocrisy?  Cuz, holy shit!

They call him a right wing hero because he bashes liberals and their thinking. He has stated many times he’s not a righty.

Yeah, I know.  It’s just idiocy.  It’s not just “liberal bashing” it’s more of bashing a group of fraudulent and self absorbed people or individuals that believe they are so entitled and enlightened as to be able to constantly infringe on others in the world around them as some form of self appointed intellectually elite and keepers of the righteous world.

Wait...yeah, guess it is liberals.  :lmao:
