Is homosexuality a mental health issue? Is so, why?

Absolutely not.   I've also read that there is no correlation between homosexuality and gender dysphoria or whatever its called.

And the reason 40% of them attempt suicide is because of bullying.

A result of indoctrination into a dominant construct. The herd will try to discipline any member who deviates from the accepted 'norm'.

If they were mentally stable they wouldn't be able to handle it.

What are the suicide rates following gender reassignment treatment?

:pc: Fuck dude just give up.  This is too easy.

https://www.heritage.org/gender/commentary/sex-reassignment-doesnt-work-here-the-evidence

When ‘the tumult and shouting dies,’ it proves not easy nor wise to live in a counterfeit sexual garb. The most thorough follow-up of sex-reassigned people—extending over 30 years and conducted in Sweden, where the culture is strongly supportive of the transgendered—documents their lifelong mental unrest. Ten to 15 years after surgical reassignment, the suicide rate of those who had undergone sex-reassignment surgery rose to 20 times that of comparable peers.

https://journals.plos.org/plosone/article?id=10.1371/journal.pone.0016885

Results

The overall mortality for sex-reassigned persons was higher during follow-up (aHR 2.8; 95% CI 1.8–4.3) than for controls of the same birth sex, particularly death from suicide (aHR 19.1; 95% CI 5.8–62.9). Sex-reassigned persons also had an increased risk for suicide attempts (aHR 4.9; 95% CI 2.9–8.5) and psychiatric inpatient care (aHR 2.8; 95% CI 2.0–3.9). Comparisons with controls matched on reassigned sex yielded similar results. Female-to-males, but not male-to-females, had a higher risk for criminal convictions than their respective birth sex controls.

Conclusions

Persons with transsexualism, after sex reassignment, have considerably higher risks for mortality, suicidal behaviour, and psychiatric morbidity than the general population. Our findings suggest that sex reassignment, although alleviating gender dysphoria, may not suffice as treatment for transsexualism, and should inspire improved psychiatric and somatic care after sex reassignment for this patient group.

I can't imagine why nonbinary people born into a binary world would have such a problem with life...

There’s many people that have issues of anxiety of depression. But the symptoms never rise to the level of interfering with life functioning. Thus, the symptoms are sub clinical and treatment isn’t warranted. Meaning: no disorder.

So if a transgender supports themselves, has relationships, isn’t having legal issues....how is it a disorder?

Great.

I bet a lot more gay people killed themselves two decades ago than they do today. Wonder why...

They've compared other "bullied" groups and their suicide rate is much more in line with the overall population.   Don't let him fool you with the whole "not accepted in society" bullshit as the main reason that group has a huge tendency to attempt suicide.

Yeah, I mean, not being accepted into society is not that big of a deal to social beings...

Find a study that compares suicide rates among transgender people with and without reassignment. This study compares reassignment folks to the general population. Try harder and keep your enthusiasm of being right from clouding your way.
