US achieved every single objective it laid out in July 2017 for NAFTA

So for Auto alone, component percentage goes from 63% to 75% must be made in North America, and the percent of components made by someone making $16+ an hour goes to 40% of the vehicle. Sounds like a big win there. That in essence is decreasing foreign manufacturing and boosting our manufacturing. Drives product away from being outsourced to Mexico for cheap labor or forces them to increase the standard of living which will reduce illegal immigration and crime. Just this portion of the new deal, alone, makes it worth it. Gotta call a win a win, even for those who hate Trump.

dude, you do realize north america is more countries than the US? do you also realize that mexican workers will get a pay raise, and still be considerably cheaper than US labor? add in all the other factors, and mexico is still the meca of car manufacturing. this won't do shit to change that.

Dude, do you realize you don’t know shit about economics? If you don’t think increasing component requirements to NA and min wage requirements won’t help the US and the rest of NA as a whole, you need to leave this thread and never return. End of story. Take your Trump blinders off...

What’s trump’s biggest demand on them? When it’s left out he can be a perfect 3 for 3!

The deals include benefits to the US. When taken as a big picture process it's clear strides are being made. China has always been the target. Anything we get along the way is icing

SK Deal - no wording on currency manipulation that trump said was absolutely necessary. FAIL.

NAFTA - Chapter 19 must be removed. Said trump. FAIL

EU - what will it be?

I dont give a fuck what trump said. Hes a fucking moron. The deals include benefits to the US that we did not have prior. China will offer large concessions or they will be decimated.

The end

given the size of that market a 20% increase is solid

do you know what % of NA parts are in mexican made cars now? do you not think there are ways to get around this? fudge numbers? still have parts from any other NA country, instead of US? this won't amount to jack shit.

xtraBS, .7momo, momo and many other economic experts thought trump was going to go into these trade talks with his dick swinging, and everyone cowering to us so they could get into our markets.

China will reduce or eliminate Tariffs. They will agree to intellectual property rules and they will lower steel capacity. All things they have promised and never delivered on

You’ve been wrong on everything trade related to date. No reason to stop now.

Thanks for proving what I assumed, you are economically illiterate. 20% more of every car produced in NA (Not just American Company cars, but every car company that makes a car in NA) will not be able to source those parts in Asia or Europe. That is an enormous number. That is American, Canadian, and Mexican jobs. More so America and Canada since we have the ability to pay $16 an hour.

Let’s put a number to it. In 2017, 17.8 million vehicles were produced in North America. 20% more of each one of those cars must now be wholly sourced in our countries. 40% of all 17.8 million vehicles components must now be made by someone making $16 an hour. That number is huge. That number is poised to be at 22.5 million vehicles in 5 years.

Here are some more numbers: $33,380 is the average price of a new car. The industry avaerages $2000 per car for profit making your average cost to produce a car, $31,380. 22.5 million cars x $31,380 = $706 Billion a year that the “measley” 20% increase is added to. $706 Billion is what 40% of all components must have a $16 an hour employee producing. That’s one fucking year MCSlinger...
