Household incomes of 125k a year yet everyone had 3 kids , new furniture , 2 new cars , 350k house , streetglide in the garage ect ect ect . Just refi the house or pull equity every 2 or 3 years when it's starts getting too hard to swim or the neighbors come home with a new Volvo . The worst was the trips to Vegas. I can't tell you how many retired people I know took home equity loan or reverse mortgages and gambled them. Now they're fucked and too old to work. So dumb. One of my friends parents went thru like 2 million bucks, basically their whole retirement account, and now they’re broke at 70. He had to go get a job. Most of it was left at the casino. Whenever I hear someone talk about their trip to the casino or Vegas(to gamble) I immediately think they are a fucking idiot. I would totally go to Vegas but I wouldn't gamble there. Lots of other cool stuff to do there.

My wife will play a few slots sometimes while we are waiting for a show to start. We go to Vegas for the events. AMA Supercross, NHRA, SEMA, Nascar, CES. Its fun to people watch in vegas. We went into a pub and paid $20.00 for two drinks that would have been free 100 feet away if we were gambling. So from then on it was gamble to get a drink then walk. That’s the only way I stood a chance of winning in Vegas.

I don't go to a casino once every 3-5 years and I still play the lowest dollar blackjack table they have. That’s the only way I stood a chance of winning in Vegas. I'm not much of a drinker these days. And I don't mind paying for my drinks. Spend $14 on a vodka tonic or lose $1400 in the casino? I'll gladly pay for the drink. We have some friends who are big Vegas goers. They are always trying to drag us with them. Funny how they justify their losses. They come away like they are winning because they had $2500 set aside for gambling and they came home with $600. #winning!
Platinum Contributing Member steve from amherst Posted December 20, 2017 Platinum Contributing Member Share Posted December 20, 2017 Just need to understand how the game is played. If one has a good understanding of statistics and probability they can win at blackjack. That being said , I don't drink when I play.
