Poncho
Too bad.....I've ridden east bound over to Sharbot Lake from there but never west. Always wanted to do that. Hopefully the other clubs pick it up.

Snoweagle
Yes the Percy Boom club is looking after part of the Tweed trails and hopefully Center Hastings can do the rest.

Tinker
I'm sure the next edition of Tourism Ontario will reflect the struggle of the now nearly unfunded OFSC by the province that makes billions from the revenue off the backs of the Over taxed and Hydro defrauded Ontario volunteers. Maybe Mazinaw will scoop down and take care of things, after all they only have 500 km of trail with 4 board members,8 volunteers, less than 400 permit sales and a District Governor scooping 50 % of their revenue.

kevinmxz700
Large sign erected under Crookston bridge by municipality stating bridge to the north where trail crosses Hwy 62 at Moira lake is closed and atv and snowmobiles are not permitted on this section of hwy 62. The groomer also stopped here. when Moira lake is safe to cross I wonder if they are going to groom up to the lake? Snoweagle
At this point the answer is NO. The Eota has closed that section of trail for liability reasons. The bridge has been condemned. As far as the rest of the trails, Center Hastings will be grooming part, Percy Boom will do part and we are hoping Snow Road will do some to shorten the trip to Sharbot Lake. grizz
Tweed closing it's doors was long over due, yes they maintained the trails very well, but that is all. They would not conform to signage, meetings and guidelines set by the OFSC. They sold and only attempted to sell very few permits. Ultimately it was there own demise, few volunteers and did not even try to integrate nor communicate with other clubs. As for District 3 and allowing this to happen is a slap in the face for the Governor and the ones involved to allow this to happen. Has District 3 or the OFSC announced what is going to happen? No and they will not as it is bad publicity. They will rely on you as the permit holder to only speculate, rely on rumours and hope there will be a trail. Now with CHSC trails closed at the lake, CHSC has no feasible way to groom those trails. The District 3 clubs are very territorial, but maybe that has changed now, not likely as these clubs have there old ways and are very limited in volunteers and resources, all by there own doing. I guess you need to see it for yourself to believe it. Ken Bertrand is the District 3 Governor and a friend of mine. Sure it's bad for any club to close, Tweed also had the option to amalgamate with another club. They didnt and optioned out of the OFSC. Kudos to the clubs from D3 and D1 for stepping up and keeping these trails open for the permit buyers...
02sled
Big thanks to the neighbouring clubs and district volunteers for stepping up to the plate and getting the Tweed trails up and running for the season. It's amazing what a dedicated group of volunteers can achieve. Too often the volunteers are taken for granted.
