Zambroski
Feeling like some more spring weather. Critters are coming out from all directions. Rain coming Friday and Sat (they think). If so, that should pretty much do it here. Snow line is receding in my yard to official "end of winter" marks. I already miss winter...now, a month of mud and crap. We still have at least a foot on the grass and it's time for it to fuck off.

Nine of us rented a house on RT14 by OS48, had a real good year. I had been riding in Maine for a couple years and right now I think I’d rather stay in VT. Twenty something years ago when I started in VT we were going out of St J. NEK is definitely the place to be. Island Pond wasn’t even that bad, seemed empty this year. I remember Officer Teddy and Kingdom Cat, things have changed.

It's pretty quiet compared to what it used to be. I hadn't ridden VT before moving here since the late 90's. It was way busier back then. Yes, we used Bob’s as our gas stop if we went that way and would hit Parker Pie often on the way home.

Zambroski
Rain yesterday showed the trails for what was left....lots of dirt and mud spots now. Supposed to reach mid 40’s today so, 55+ in the sun. Wife said she was gonna try and sit out on the chairs that are finally free of snow and get some sun. I’m calling the sledding season over for me. Still snow up north but hardly premium riding and I’m not into dodging rocks and trash. It’s over.
ckf
Sitting outside on the deck and just saw a statey go by with full lights and siren going. That's something that is very uncommon around here.

I talked to the fire chief about it years ago and he told me what I suspected. People not cleaning out their fireplaces and/or space heater/carbon monoxide issues. I bet I hear sirens two or three times a week from Sep-Nov. You’d think people up this way would figure it out.

That was probably the 3rd or 4th time that I have heard them in 6 and a half years of living here. Pretty quiet around here now that Teddy is gone. Anyone that has been around Island Pond in the past knows who I'm talking about. I'm sure you can find him referenced in the VT forum on HCS. Search "boycotting Island Pond" LOL
