Is it too early to start talking about sleds?

So let me try to interpret your post.

Nowhere.

Am I close?

A lot of midwesterners have mountain sleds and go out west. Once you get a taste of the powder out there, you're hooked.

they closed all of the Chippewa nat forest . pretty lame seeing as I use to spend a decent amount of time playing with the 136 in there

That wasn't private tho right?  Can't stand idiots who think everything is a free for all.  Fastest way to kill a trail

I get that.

EzRyder was making statements about how well the Poo's are clutched and how all the glued a-arms fail and how no Axys RMK aarms fail.   I was just trying to get a feel for how many and how often he is really around these sleds.

Polaris sleds respond to clutching as good or better than any of them.  Polaris has sent the same basic clutching out on every 800 mountain sled since 2008.  A simple $300 clutching upgrade on an RMK will add 5 lengths in 150' up a hill.  The same clutching mods will allow them to rev to 8200 RPM from sea level all the way to 6000'.

Stock clutching on a Pro is junk.

I was more thinking about the winter riding through there.  We've rode around the Bunyan a bunch, but only ventured down the bike trails twice with sleds.

I think all the guys I run with are running a stock poo helix and new primary spring and  cant remember whos aftermarket weighs but they all run same set up .

I run a m8000 so I run stock primary cuttler turbo mag adjustable and team tied for west and the stock cat secondary set up for the UP and northern WI .

I am the only 1 with out a bike going to have to bite the bullet and buy one soon they are much more ez to ride for us old men lol

The helix is the biggest problem.  Polaris uses the same exact 56/42/36 helix on 600 short tracks, 600cc 144's, 800 short tracks, 800 163's etc, etc.

Here is a short list of Polaris sleds that use the same exact helix as a 800 RMK.

The last time I rode off trail through there was the Sunday they ended up with 15-18" of snow, so 5 years ago or so.  So much fun off trail. It was two friends and I and we only saw one other group doing the same thing.  One of the guys grew up just outside of Nevis, so we'd stay at his parent's place.

A stock clutched RMK at 9000' is a complete piece of shit.

hence post 4 or 5 up

don't think any are clutched for 9k even when bought in the rockys . no oem  do. I thought poo was like 6k to 8500 or something out of the crate

The other group out had a red F6 EXT, which I thought was kind of funny because I was riding the same sled in green.  Got trapped there until Monday because the shut the highways down from the snow.
