Nice :fishing: expedition by the resident EV nazi

That's the nail in the coffin heading to the car lot to buy me an EV I never want to wait 3 hours for anything!!  It's my money and I want it now.

Here was the availability of Tesla EV superchargers and available stalls the day after the storm at around 6:13 pm.  The ones with the clocks had a wait. The ones with a slash were down.  But plenty of charging stations up and running.

also superchargers are large electric users and typically on bigger circuits that Utilities focus on earlier in restorations….  So usually these chargers come up pretty quick after natural disasters as utilities prioritize circuits that get the most customers on upon repair.

About 3 seconds of time needed to plug in on a normal day.  About like plugging in a cell phone.  That’s how much of my time is used to fill up an EV

Three second fill ups? Sign me up for that super duper giga charge stuff!!!!

Yeah, that’s the easy part.  How much battery backup do you have on a given day, meaning how long could you go without power?  Being in Idaho, Boise area??  I would suspect you don’t get too many severe storms much less hurricanes rolling through there.

How much of your time is used charging your cell phone?  Literally I spend very seconds of my charging a phone.  You guys may stand or sit there and watch it charge but I don’t.  Plug it in at night and it is all charged up when I wake up in the morning.  Same with an EV as it takes a few seconds to plug it in at home and go about your day.  Next thing you know it’s filled and it took none of my time.

You are describing something completely different then "3 second fill ups"

We maybe experience 5-10 minutes a year with power outages.  But even some place like a hurricane my vehicles would be sitting on full prior to the storm and have 100’s of miles of range.  Riding out a storm it’s not like you have a lot of places to go until the roads are cleared and the power comes back on.

growing up in the Dakota’s I remember we didnt really go many places during or for a day or 2 after the big blizzards until they could get roads opened up.

as decrepit as the deregulated for profit Texas grid is I would likely have backup power at my residents.  It would likely be Tesla as they are a power provider in that state and consumers with Tesla can sell power to the power companies down there when they are in need.  Also Tesla power has a super cheap monthly flat EV rate

The Tesla app for charging stations is not correct at times, this guys private charging station show on the Tesla app.

Fill ups are my time I expend doing something.  Charging at home is like 3 second fill ups factoring my time I use to fill up.

It’s like charging a cell phone…  I spend little to none of my time charging it…  takes a couple seconds to plug it in.

You can keep reiterating the same shit but it's not a 3 second fill up plain and simple

It takes you three seconds to plug in your car, X amount of time to charge it then another 3 seconds to unplug it

spend a significantly less amount of my time filling up an EV vs a gas or diesel vehicle.
