You cant go anywhere overly fast though because of limited suspension travel.

Yea but the trails are so tight and technical that speed really doesn't matter. the only time I feel shorted is on the road as mine tops out around 40 and everyone else can do 50.

My new  R does well over 100. My X3 tops out at 89 stock , but with my tune I can get another 13 to 15 mph out of it. I dont push it to high speeds much unless I'm running without a belt cover.

50 is idling for many SXS's.

NH’s speed limit is really low for sxs 35mph I believe so I guess most are doing a lot of idling.

35, wow, not really worth having then..it's true we rarely go over 40-50 but if we want to our two XP 1000 ATV's and our XP 1000 RZR will go much faster.

Is there a snowmobile speed limit too?

Up north it’s probably ridiculously slow but most anything below the notches is more than fast enough. Yes 45 for sleds and same deal fine south slow up north.

Ya 45 speed limit for sleds same as 35 ohrv limit….plenty fast most of southern nh but pretty slow for most of northern NH.

speed limits in NH are ridiculous.  i have put maybe 500 miles on a sled in NH the last 10 years as i've rode almost exclusively maine.

Waiting for some repair parts from walker evans to redo all my shocks.  2k into new bodies and rods for the rebuild,  SMH so much for a cheap summer

It is a different kind of riding for sure. Some very technical trails filled with danger. When you are in the valleys the trails are a mix of dirt roads and fairly flat trails. The challenge comes when you have to move from one valley to the next the trails get steep and littered with boulders. If I lived out in the dunes or the mid west I would own something else. But for upper NH and around my house a 60 inch machine with a short wheel base is the way to go.

Next time just send them to Shock Therapy. Lately I've just left my machine there and it's finished within the week. I know that's not an option for you, but they are top notch in the shock game, amongst other things.

I don't care how much suspension you have you are not going 100 mph down NH trails.

40-50 smooths those rocks right out.   Also why i need a complete suspension rebuild.    we ride a lot of area like that along the maine NH border over to Oxford/Rumford/Andover areas.    When i want my speed blasts i ride out of Millinocket area or Pittsfield.

i have shock therapy springs.    i have a local guy who rebuild fox and walker evans.  getting 2 shock bodies,  3 rods and a couple eyelets done along with the seals and fluids.

I went to Shock Therapy springs almost immediately. The FOX springs sagged quickly from new. Is that what you were experiencing?

We took a black diamond trail up the back way to the windmills just out of colebrook and it was crazy. The rocks were as high as the top of the tire. The group still talks about that ride. Again not hair on fire fast but you definitely had to have your head in the game.

my machine came with walkers but the springs were toast when I bought it with 700 miles on it.  rode 1 day with stocks.   I put 4100 on it since so it was more than time to refresh.
