I'm going to revisit the idea next year. I looked at some nice trailers at the overland expo. Some could handle back country better than the van so it could stay attached. They can be outfitted with a kitchen, roof top tent, onboard water, and lithium. There's something about sleeping in the back country on a comfortable mattress tucked inside a van. That's the idea, full sized mattress in the van, everything else in my 5x8, aluminum with 15" tires. It weighs almost nothing and the vans are AWD, go places my 3/4 ton 4x4 wouldn't even dream of. I looked at travel trailers that are smaller than the inside of the van alone and they are 30K and they don't have AC or heat like like the van. I got no problem with a shitter bucket and a coleman stove...done that in every situation imaginable....have the wife to convince lol.
