Right, we can do no harm with no political fallout in the EU if true. I’m sure no one considered the collateral damage before making such a decision.

You're assuming the EU didn't know we were going to do it.  Hersh's reporting says Norway was in on it.

Don't you find it a bit strange that the response or denial from both the US and Norway hasn't been more significant?  You don't find it a bit strange that we haven't been shouting from the mountain tops that it was Russia and showing world the evidence we have?

That pipeline has to be one of the most protected and surveilled parts of NATO and we have no evidence of who did it....in a time of war in the area?   Come on man.

Not exactly easily accessible from Russia given the proximity to NATO countries.

Speaking of NATO how is an attack like that not invoke article 5?  :news:  Or is it just accepted as proportional response to NATO supplying Ukraine weapons?

How is it that you are in lock step with their views if you don't watch them?

You live there. It has everything to do with you. Especially when you try and stick your weak beak into the business of the most powerful nation in the world.  Just be grateful that we consider you and your country on our side.

Let’s be honest here.  We’re living with the most corrupt government in our lifetimes.

No, the citizens didn’t know about it. It’s political suicide if leadership lied and was in fact in on it and forced their citizens to ensure economic hardship because of it.

Clearly they’re having a hard time directly accusing Russia. If they did it themselves, they could just fabricate the evidence if they needed to.

It’s less than 100 miles away from the headquarters of the Russian Baltic Fleet.

Reality is we have zero proof who did it and NATO has as much if not more incentive to do it as Russia.   To garner support for the war topping the list.

Less than 100 miles from Russian Baltic Fleet headquarters means even more surveillance.  As stated given its proximity to other NATO countries.

You’re right, but we can weigh who has the most to lose and to gain, both short term and long term.

Yet there is this thread claiming we have proof...or at least that is what is trying to be implied.  The conspiracy morons are bat shit crazy again...

Russia invading Ukraine was. I don’t know if anyone wants to invade Russia over a pipeline, or vice versa. Good to know you do though.

Yes recently Seymour Hersh's track record has been sketchy but he also still garners much respect and has broken some absolutely huge stories in the past.

Again arguments could be made on both sides of who has more to gain or lose.  Not hard to see the US and Norway having much financial incentive selling NG and Coal to Germany and other European countries.

And yet no real effort on the part of the world to come up with the perpetrators.

Things like this often come down to who will financially benefit and without question that is the US and Norway with Russia being the loser.   On top of that the US announced multiple times if Russia invades the US will stop it "one way or another."
