$100+ Oil Is Back For The Long Haul

Recommended Posts

Will this be the new RIVN thread?

Crude oil

WTI crude futures rose almost 4% to above $101 per barrel on Monday, reversing losses from earlier in the session as investors grappled with ongoing supply tightness and risk appetite returned to markets. Saudi ministers insisted that policy decisions would be based on market dynamics and according to the OPEC+ meeting on August 3rd, despite US President Biden’s pledge to increase oil supply. Elsewhere, Libya said all oil fields and ports are restarting and electricity output will increase after months of outages. On the demand side, gasoline and diesel sales in India's third-biggest energy consumer fell in the first half of July due to seasonal rains. The US oil benchmark dropped almost 7% last week and has been declining since mid-June as growing recession concerns, driven by aggressive rate hikes worldwide, ripped through commodity markets. Traders also remain wary about wider Covid-19 lockdowns in China and western proposals for a price cap on Russian oil.
