I think you need to spend some time with Milton Friedman and less with the likes of Paul Krugman.

Paul Krugman is an idiot and I’ve never read anything hes stated that was either historically correct or proven to be correct.

We looked at a Sant-Cruz, sticker was about $32,000 they wanted $41,000 that was on Wed. we went by on Sat. and it was sold, people are stupid.

It was the same here back in April when we were looking at telluride’s for my wife. 8k over to 12k over for higher trim levels and they wouldn’t even consider budging this is the price you don’t like here’s the door. We ended up leaving and giving up on the telluride as a option. Maybe it’s not as bad now idk though don’t sound like it from your experience

The market adjustment is officially on new vehicles. That in turn (along with the new vehicle shortage) pumps the price of used vehicles. Used vehicle prices are up almost 50%. While the vehicle may be repo'd, the value of that car remains elevated. Unless the thing has been totally trashed out it can still be sold for it's residual.. So the depth of being upside shouldn't be too great or nonexistant. I think there's another issue here. A lot of younger people have zero skills when it comes to selling an item outright. They just roll over like a lazy carp and let the vehicle be repossessed. When I purchase stuff off of marketplace there's rarely a time when the seller has been under 40 years old. In my 20's I was was buying and reselling stuff all the time. Snowmobile/motorcycle parts, guns, fishing gear, knives, etc.

until used prices come down, gas and everything else goes up and your stuck with a car that you way over payed for and can’t afford so ya say well fuck it kick it to the repo man. Insurance companies must be loving selling all these gap policies though.

Exactly ....so join the fucking party and eat caviar until you’re on the ocean floor. The ship is sinking and only suckers and fools are wasting their time with austerity. It’s all a fake bullshit show designed to keep slaves laboring away and rich people buying islands.

Plenty of normal people living debt free lives....I know you will hate it because of the religious undertones. However, listen to the Dave Ramsey show for 1 week and you will hear every hour someone that took their lives back by being disciplined.  Those people are the everyday millionaires.

I have been entirely debt free aside from a small mortgage as recently as 24 months ago. When I take on debt now it’s calculated and with purpose.

You are younger than I am, but aim for totally debt free..no mortgage no credit card, no car payment...you can save rather quickly for whatever you want.

The other benefit is total security from what goes on around you. Total freedom.

Your poor daughter saved eleventy dollars last year and this years it’s worth 40% less. That’s not good planning. We should teach our kids to eat the rich and slit throats when they steal our lunch. Nothing else matters

Or teach her how to become rich with hard work and discipline.

I get rich is subjective...but there is zero reason for anyone to retire broke.

Time value of money..

150.00 per month over 30years @ 8% return is 2million

Ramsey is good for the undisciplined. I've always been disciplined and rarely follow any of his rules. I buy everything on credit card for the points. Pay it off and never carry a balance. Large purchases are always on credit. I never paid off a home. Why would I? I could finance it below 3% and keep my capital invested. It's virtual free money. I understand the idea of paying off a house or large purchase from an emotional POV. But financially it makes zero sense.

Mathematically you are correct...but answer this question. If your home were paid off would you go take out a mortgage against it so you can invest in the stock market?

Ramseys system isn't rocket science...his process makes people disciplined.
