I've made around 70 trips to the BWCA/Quetico.  He's been before, but always with me as a guide.  Going with the YMCA and his friends so they have to do it all this time.  Poor kid broke his arm playing soccer this week, but is just in a splint so he can still paddle.  Tough little shit.

The arm injury sucks but that'll be part of the story when he gets back. I'm happy there are programs for kids like that in the summer,awesome lessons will be learned . Too many kids these days think going to the cabin is outdoorsing it. Nothing like camping in the backcountry and eating off the land(water).

Or how about some small lake trout cut in cubes,,,boiled lightly in saltwater served up with garlic/herb butter(poor man's lobster) with a side of fried bannock bread(dip in butter too) Mmmmmmmmm. Just something about catching it and eating it fresh in the wild. I could take you to flavortown. You wouldn't be asking for steak
