Fauci: COVID-19 Won't 'Be Pandemic for a Lot Longer'

Here’s the problem, we’ve all been left guessing, There has been no sustained effort that discusses methods to boost immunity against the virus. It’s been proven that higher vitamin D levels and zinc are protective. While masks should’ve been mandated from the beginning, ideas to boost immune response should’ve been pushed harder. Clinical studies are conclusive. Those with low vitamin D levels are more likely to be hospitalized and possibly die.

Been on the Vit D for a year now.

the disinformation from both sides has not been helpful.  this is where some leadership skills would haev been helpful from the top.  Even if the advice changed as we learned more a united voice would be better than a dividing message.

Biden is not capable of making that any better.  he won't get cooperation from half the governors out there and has no legal basis to do anything.

Media has only made this worse with all the fear porn.

Vitamin D is actually a hormone. Lots of secondary body functions depend on it. Immune system function to name one

Compared to seasonal flu, the 18-49 year old age group is 3 times more likely to be hospitalized. That’s significant. Should we be closing down? Absolutely not. Mandatory masks? Yes. Along with accurate information about the disease. There also needs to be some kind of relief for healthcare workers. It’s pretty bad right now.  Especially in nursing homes, rehab units, and acute care facilities.

I don't think you are in any position to call names.  You are arguing with snowbeavis, think about that.

3x more likely than .00013 is still astronomically low

Not when you’re talking about ICU capacity and effect on elective surgeries. ICU capacity is needed even for electives. Hospitals need to budget in the event of complications.

It’s all bullshit.....8 months in and no hospitals have been over run. I’m done with the mass hysteria and politicizing of this virus. We have enough data to know it’s no more serious than a bad flu season

Numbers AFJ , not spin and fear

Disagree with your numbers. 3 times the number of hospitalizations is disruptive. There’s a domino effect with this. When hospitals cancel elective surgeries due to a lack of icu space it has downstream consequences. I don’t think closing the country down is the answer. That approach concerns me a lot. The disruption to commerce and damage to the nation’s psyche has been underestimated. This has been the most bungled and mismanaged pandemic ever. Either it’s overreact or under react. There’s virtually no common sense being applied.

That is what’s happening here and the Yoop..UP HC System which includes Marquette General is basically full. War Memorial Hosptial in The Soo...which has small capacity is almost there and they rely on McLaren Hospital in Petoskey to take their transfers and acute cases...problem is that McLaren is full and not accepting transfers so it’s on to Munson in Traverse City...ect...ect..Not arguing mortality or severity...these are the numbers and facts.

Wisconsin hospitals are at 90% capacity for both general and ICU beds. Mayo’s hospital chain in the northwest section is over capacity. Eau Claire’s Mayo center has opened additional resources to take extra. This is only November. Covid is consuming a large chunk of medical care.

Ya people are really filling up the hospitals when they get Covid wether they need to go to the hospital or not.....  they are scared of dying so at the slightest discomfort they get from covid they are heading to the hospital cause they are told by the some of our leaders, media and medical experts that they are prolly going to die and there is a good chance they will perish from this temporary illness
When the reality is they aren’t going to die and will be just as uncomfortable at a hospital as they would be at home fighting off this cold

So are they admitting all of these people or sending them home?  As for the rest of your post just the  usual fucking blame the media blather. BTW my daughter has a roommate that’s a nursing student and  works at Marquette General and it’s full.
