The utility company tossed them into a brushy, lower area, so I couldn't get the quad in there. I actually have a mini-skidder that works good................but only where you can get it in there.

How many cords do you burn a year??

I don't burn any. We had a Glenwood Stove in our house many year ago, it's now in the garage.

I am gonna' try to find an emergency wood burner, and make a temporary set-up, just in case we can't get oil, or electricity goes out or somethin'!!!

Did some mowing and herding of leaves today. I round them up in circles, then shovel them up. It wastes too much gas and time trying to mulch them up totally.

Once I've got them shoveled-up, I run over them once, and it comes out good. You can not mulch too much biomass, it becomes counter-productive if there is too much.

Dude what is wrong with you?  My wimpy little JD X730 with the vacuum bagger would make quick work of that.  Throw it in the burn pit and she's done!

OMG!!! You silly little city-boy.   The leaves have barely started dropping yet, and I've got trailer loads of them!!!

Before I'm done, we'll have about 15-20 trailer loads of leaves!!!!! I have a big compost pile up back where I dump them.

I hear what ya' say about a bagger, but it would not be feasible for this place. I would have to keep making runs up back to dump the bagger.

Although, a bagger with a mulching motor might work here.

It actually works out pretty good using the mower to round them up, then shoveling the pile onto the trailer.

Just mow those little amounts up ...

It comes out much better when I shovel them out..................then go over it with the mower.

Otherwise, I have to keep going back and forth, wasting gas and time, and it never gets all of them.

Waste of time. Do laps & keep shoot pointing in. Mulch & mow at same time.

Yeah, I do that if there's not too many. If there's a lot I round them up, shovel them out...............THEN RUN THEM OVER.

At least you don't have a bunch of pine trees. They suck to cleanup from.

That is why you get drunk as shit and ride the fuck out of that mower.  You won't give two shits about the fuel bill if your driving around your yard with a beer in your hand...

rake them onto a tarp then pick up the tarp and dump them,  so much easier than a shovel.  i run 10-15 trailer loads a fall to the dump for the compost pile there.  I just use a rake and tarp  and it takes me longer to go back and forth to the dump than to load the trailer.  Early fall the leaves get mulched into the lawn for fertilizer but don't want too much of it down.

Another tree came down at my woodpile area. That makes two within the last few weeks.

Started working on one of them today...................exhausting.The branches make more work than the wood itself. Cleaning-up takes a lot of work and time too.

Load the branches up, and haul them up back to the brush pile. Then rake the debris into piles, then haul that up back also.

Another long, hard day. Took down a poplar that was hung up on branches. Tried to pull it one way, it would not go. Tried pulling the other way, it finally came down.

Took down a birch that had grown way over the roof of my barn, but was wedged in by another tree. Tried pulling from one side...no luck. Tried pulling from other side, and I walked it right down, and didn't touch the barn at all.......no damage!!!

Took HOURS to limb them up, haul the branches up back, and rake up more piles of debris. Took all afternoon................will finish tomorrow probably.  Dead tired.
