How's the house coming along?

:news:

Land is secured. We have a home plan picked out.

With the Cannabis laws changing here in Michigan (as you may have heard), my house nut just became a light deprivation greenhouse nut, so we're not going to break ground until next year, I hope. Depends on how long the state takes to get off their asses.

Pretty exciting though!

No, cannabis won big in this election.

A lot of Trump's voters voted for cannabis too. My bet is he's hands off.

I hope so. I was talking with my buddy that is worried about the republicans on the issue, he said MI had the signatures ,  but they pulled some bs saying that some of the signatures were too old.

Anyway he's hoping for legalization and opening a store. (Isn't everybody) Though he does have access to some property that would be an ideal location.

These new laws passed late this summer set up licensing for growers, processors, retailers, transportation companies, and testing labs.

The way I understand it, grows will only be allowed in industrial or ag zoning, processors in commercial/industrial zones, and retailers in appropriate business zoning. It's totally up to the local government unit if they want cannabusiness or not, which is a good thing, I think.

Yep.  Child indoctrination in politics or religion is a scary and gross affair.

It was all over nickelodeon and all those other kid channels.  They had kids voting on line.

I started getting a little pissed, it was sickening.

It really is.  We never pushed politics on our kids.  Matter of fact ,my son is a huge  lib. a disgruntled Bernie supporter.

I bet some libs were tucking their little kids in and telling them world was coming to an end.

we never did mock elections in school.

My parents voted every election, but politics were never talked around the dinner table like on Family ties.:D

Never gave it much thought until I got into punk rock, and it was very political............I was a flaming liberal then.

my first memory of a election was a teacher giving a long talk about how important farmers were and how 1 of the guys running was a peanut farmer and everyone likes peanuts .

then I remember being in the hall and having her tell me I did not pick the correct person and having to sit in the hall .I must have been 7 or 8

so yeah the indoctrination has been going on as long as I can remember

No, that's a horrible place for it. Too much drama. Instagram is better for that. or Snapchat.

My only mistress is The Revolution.

Revolution by a bunch of gun hating, dope smoking socialists.   Yeah, that's going to work. :taunt:  "Dude, pass the Doritos."

How is more govt control (free college, UHC) not in some ways Fascist?

Reality is Bernie Sanders has more Fascist traits than Donald Trump.

From Wiki on Fascism.

One common definition of the term focuses on three concepts: the fascist negations of anti-liberalism, anti-communism and anti-conservatism; nationalist authoritarian goals of creating a regulated economic structure to transform social relations within a modern, self-determined culture; and a political aesthetic of romantic symbolism, mass mobilization, a positive view of violence, and promotion of masculinity, youth and charismatic leadership.[25][26][27] According to many scholars, fascism—especially once in power—has historically attacked communism, conservatism and parliamentary liberalism, attracting support primarily from the far right
