I still say Trudope doesn't say a word about the farmers when he meets with the PM of India. I'm not bashing farmers Fail. More things you dream up in your imagination to deflect from your being wrong about the nature of Trudope's visit. As for the red carpet... This seems a lot like having people show up at your cottage unexpectedly during a summer heat wave. I'm pretty sure in most state visits regardless of which countries are involved, official business/dialogue comes before the 'sightseeing'. A cynical comment on the TV last night was that the trip's intention was more for the sub-Asian diaspora in Canada rather than actual trade between the 2 countries. "Look at me, I know what it's like to be an Indian because I visited there". Unfortunately the lemmings in that community will probably fall for it. Someone on the news was trying to downplay Modi not greeting Sock Boy on his arrival. The report then went on to say that Modi recently met Netanyahu upon his arrival in India. Maybe their protocol states that a 'junior' PM rates a junior minister. The Indians see Trudeau for what he is, a lightweight.
02sled
The Indian PM truly is giving Trudope a snub that even Trudope must recognize. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi routinely lands up at the airport to receive world dignitaries. From the moment a world leader sets foot on Indian soil, Modi’s photo ops begin. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/global-opinions/wp/2018/02/20/why-india-is-being-really-rude-to-justin-trudeau/?utm_term=.477de22fb243 Who can forget the famous Modi hug reserved for world leaders? No hug for Trudope at the airport from the PM like all others who have arrived before him. He got met by a junior Agriculture Minister. Modi hasn’t even welcomed Trudeau to India on Twitter https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/worldviews/wp/2016/01/25/narendra-modi-wont-stop-hugging-world-leaders-no-matter-how-awkward-it-is/?utm_term=.706b3843e342 The beautiful, photogenic Trudeaus went to see the Taj Mahal in Agra, where they were welcomed not by the provincial chief minister, not even a junior minister, but by district officials. Kind of like oh the President of France arriving at Pearson and being met by John Tory. Modi often likes to take visiting dignitaries to Ahmedabad in Gujarat, his home state. Many good visuals have been produced in Gujarat with Modi showing world leaders around Mahatma Gandhi’s Sabarmati Ashram or just taking them around the city. But the Trudeaus had to go alone to Gujarat. Poor shiny pony must be sobbing when he gets back to the hotel at night. They aren't bending down to worship him.
