Who pays for tariffs?

What if was you and your family going bankrupt and suffering....would you still be so cavalier about the whole thing?

The absolute devastation wrought on millions of people by outsourcing to China makes the farmers current tariff plight seem like a day at the toy store.

The end game here is to level the playing field. If some bean farmers are the temporary casualty then so be it.

More like fake blame.  We all know where the article came from:

https://www.salon.com/2019/02/13/midwest-farmers-going-broke-at-record-rates-thanks-to-trumps-trade-war/

My Wife's nephew is a supervisor for a large farm equipment credit company, things are much worse since the tariffs, so much so they have changed he rules to give farmers more time to make payments. In the long run the pain now maybe worth it, but to say it isn't hurting lot's of people now is dishonest.

In 10 years we lost 3.2 million jobs to China.

Perspective much?

Nope.....my sacred cow is manufacturing and industry. That used to be 60% of the jobs in this country and it could be again if we level the playing field

It won't be, our consumer base will dwindle to make that an unreasonable target, other than an isolationist agenda.

Nobodydomestically  is unfairly acting against the farming industry. China is lashing out over us acting to be treated fairly.

Get that through your thick skull.

Plenty of jobs out there.  Farmers could just get jobs if they need money.

They're too used to taking a welfare check to get an actual job

That and they don’t have much skill sets that are useful to employers.  But they could at least try if they are hungry

Couldn't the same be said of manufacturers?  :dunno:

Manufacturing employees have been doing just that since nafta and all this free trade BS.  Farmers could get jobs too.

To blame it on tariffs is also dishonest as well

National figures

Court data compiled by the American Farm Bureau Federation, a trade group, found that chapter 12 filings nationwide actually fell by about 1 percent in 2018, and that the 2018 level was below the 10-year average.

"Bankruptcies are not at record levels," John Newton, the Farm Bureau’s chief economist, told PolitiFact.

Longer-term statistics concur.

I support that money being given to you this year. Next year plan better than relying on China to get paid
