Deferred Prosecution

Bullshit....every time I've ever been charged with any crime I was required to plead guilty , pay the fines and do the probation. All are still on my record as convictions. Never been offered a deal like this ever. In fact I have been threatened with escalating charges up to felony when I plead not guilty. I beat that charge because I had done nothing wrong and had witnesses to prove it. That didnt stop the prosecutor from threatening and trying to get me to plead.

Did you act like a lunatic?

That may explain a few things....

Well my guess if you didn't have such a fine attitude for the law maybe things would have been offered differently to you.

About a year ago they busted a prostitute in my area along with 4 or 5 of her customers, they had the pictures of the Johns on the news, if that wasn't bad enough, they had her picture, holy shit how anyone could even think of banging her is beyond me.

Way to go American Justice system! :flush:

If he'd be guilty at trial then convict him, otherwise dismiss these charges outright, it shouldn't be illegal to get a rub and tug anyhow.

No he is right. They are all about the convictions. They threaten you with maximum penalties if you dont take the guilty plea. If you have the time and money you can fight them but most people dont and cant take off the time from work for a lengthy legal battle. They know that and use it against us. Even if you are obviously not guilty they will still offer a plea in lieu of dropping the charges. UNLESS you come in with your high dollar attorney, then they know they are beat. Most prosecutors are no match for a skilled defense attorney. Thats why the poor and minorities end up in jail.

In DUI situations the lawyers like to tell you to not blow or do any of their tests because they can beat it in court but you are still going to pay out the nose to fight it in most cases. The difference being the lawyer gets the money instead of the state. And even then, when the state knows they have lost they will still offer you a plea for a lesser penalty because a trial will be more time and $$$.

Kraft, 77, will have until his next court appearance on March 28 to decide whether to accept the deferred prosecution offer or to move the case toward trial. The offer to him was first reported by The Wall Street Journal.

The newspaper said that under the deal, Kraft would have to be screened for sexually transmitted diseases, complete an education course about prostitution and do 100 hours of community service.

Robert Kraft on a SWAP detail doing community service would be a beautiful thing

Well then don't break the law in the first place.   My point is lots of people get deferred prosecutions.   Not just the uber wealthy.   I'm just not buying that a significant portion of people are in jail/prison for prosecutors charging them for crimes they didn't commit.   Actually the opposite.   Many times they just want a conviction and take a lower plea.   Wanting a high conviction rate % works both ways.

I find your use of the word "significant" interesting in this statement.  :news:

It's the easiest way to get in and out of the issue.  I've complied and was cordial in all but one of my run ins with Johnny and in all but that one, I was treated with care and professional respect.  It's a fairly simple premise...even without much common sense at all.  Hell, even in that "one" where I was gonna show 'em...I was treated fairly.  It hurt for a while.

Not sure why this is even a crime to be perfectly honest.  I mean..assuming age and consent of course.  It's just plain dumb as fuck.

Just having sex with a woman without her verbal consent could be considered forcible rape. But you guys dont have to worry about that either.

#metoo is establishing a free sex contract that must be witnessed by at least two sober adults above the age of 50 and, must be notarized with parental consent.

I think it will really solve a lot of misunderstandings (and "misrememberings").

Never had a guy get out of line with my girl that escalated into anything.   Guess I'm just big enough where they figure I'm not worth the risk fucking with.
