Hey wasn’t very good at the position if he wasn’t running. The best thing for the defense to do is let him pass and not put to much pressure on him. I was a huge San Fran fan at one point... dates back to Montana days. When kap took San Fran well into the playoffs he was the leading rusher on the team... when chip tried to make him pass accurately they went to shit. Both coaches did... cause the defenses figured San Fran out... why they lost horribly after a great season. Harbaugh had a soft spot for Kapernick that went back to neveda and tried to protect him after the Cinderella season. Look what happens to running quarterbacks in the NFL... pretty short careers. I get it...you don't like him because of the anthem deal and he dared to speak his mind...just admit it. kelly failed in the NFL as a coach as a whole but he got decent amount out of QB's including foles and bradford and Kaepernicks numbers under him were good in 16. he had the opportunity to be a backup in Baltimore and passed which was dumb but so wasn't opting out of San Fran after 2 inconsistent seasons. another decent year and standing for the anthem he'd prob be a starter on a bottom third team now.
