According to CNN he is just pleading guilty.... even the prosecutors in this case don’t like the uncertainty of a trial. As part of the plea deal under discussion, Cohen is not expected to cooperate with the government, one source said. However, by pleading guilty both Cohen and prosecutors would avoid the spectacle and uncertainty of a trial. https://www.cnn.com/2018/08/21/politics/michael-cohen-plea-deal-talks/index.html?utm_content=2018-08-21T17%3A10%3A19&utm_source=twCNN&utm_medium=social&utm_term=image

Quote Investigators are examining whether Mr Cohen committed bank or tax fraud or violated campaign finance laws. He had previously admitted to arranging hush money for a woman who claimed she had an affair with Mr Trump, which could be a violation. Mr Cohen is reportedly due to appear in a Manhattan courtroom on Tuesday. He worked at the Trump Organization for more than a decade and continued to serve as Mr Trump's personal lawyer after the 2016 election. Mr Cohen's potential co-operation with investigators against Mr Trump has been tipped for weeks. He once famously vowed he would take a bullet for Mr Trump. But he told ABC News last month that his loyalty to his family and country came before his old boss. Last month it also emerged that he had made a secret recording of the president, in which they discuss a payment to a model who said she had sex with Mr Trump. The nature of the reported plea deal is unclear and does not necessarily entail that Mr Cohen is co-operating against the president. It could simply mean he has agreed to plead guilty to unspecified charges in order to spare the prosecution a lengthy trial.

For most of you hayseed nerds who have never been thru the justice system it looks like justice but this is jack boot thug tactic 101. Have the cops tear apart your life and ring you up on a bunch of bullshit charges that would most likely bankrupt you to defend yourself if you dont do what they want and see what YOU do...

Platinum Contributing Member Highmark Posted August 21, 2018 Platinum Contributing Member Share Posted August 21, 2018 What they fail to recognize is these guys might simply not have anything on Trump. Does anyone doubt for a second Manafort wouldn't have been singing like a canary to save his ass from possibly staying the rest of his life in jail? What they have is all of these indictments and pleas on Trump associates which gives people a sense of guilt by association. If those guys were associated with the Clinton's they would all be dead by now.

Pretty clear that's what the jury sees in the Manafort trial right now. The man may fucking walk becuase the prosecution tried to make this about Trump. Unreal. I've said this from the beginning they need him out ASAP because the appointment of judges alone is impossible to undue. The other stuff he's accomplished can be reversed but it will be very difficult and take time. Time is of the essence, if they had something we would know. If they had something they would want it out so he might go over the top with what he says or step down. The Mueller probe only ends if the democraps take back the house. It doesn't 100% mean impeachment but they will get back a sense of control. If the GOP retains the majority the Mueller probe goes into the 2020 elections. The Cohen plea has nothing to do with anything that investigation is supposed to be about. Oh, campaign finance fraud, i bet you could ring up half of washington on that.
