He laughed and asked why people are so interested in what rock and movies stars think about politics. I agree that paying attention to celebrities when it comes to politics is for the most part laughable. You have to remember that Reagan was not like Trump or Oprah and just jumped right in at a high level. He was involved in campaigns and did speeches going all the way back to the 1940's. He in fact started out as a Democrat. He was far from just an actor that spoke about politics, he was deeply involved including becoming the gov of California for 8 years. His hand written pages on policy he wrote long before running for office became legendary and were part of the many speeches he wrote himself or assisted in writing.
