With being shot down on this big plan, and the burning down of Papa Charlies, they are having a tough go of it up there recently. They also bought out my favorite place to stay on the north shore last spring, and they don't even have winter rates set up yet for it, much less how many rooms if any will be available (Been trying to find out for months and keep getting told they don't know.) Time to look for a new favorite place...

They've been scaring us for almost a week on this thing now, before it was even named, and even then, the maps they were showing looked like this one. It will take quite the change in what ever they use to predict the path at this point, to hit the US. I hope it stays the course they have mapped for it... LOL

Whoosh…. You can think about that one some more. As for License for Everyone, as long as Walz and his huge expansion of Gov’t have hired enough people to actually follow up on those applying for the license who lied and checked the “I am a citizen” box on-line, then hopefully they won’t vote - but I have a very low confidence in that.

Sure could - but having a drivers license in MN, will that allow them to register to vote? Sure looks like it will going through the steps on the MN website. Guess we will find out.

Agree - but who in their right mind running for political office is going to tell a large portion of their voting audience, "We don't need half of you, so you will be cut under my administration". And chipping away at the problem will never catch up with the "we need more" crowd.

When I worked for Northern Tool and Equipment back in the early 90's, MOST of their products came from China. They were doing $1M/day in phone sales back then, as much as $2M/day on holiday sales pushes... As you said: GARBAGE. Half the shit they got back in the returns department was simply tossed if an employee wouldn't give them a few bucks for what ever it was. I'm sure it's not much different today on many of these mail order companies.

Lots of snow will do that. I think I've dumped over an inch of rain from my little plastic yard rain gauge ONCE - All summer. Been a few 1/2-3/4, but certainly not like we should have had. Oh well, if this pans out like last year, we'll be riding from the garage again this winter! (Insert wishful thinking here)

100% - I'm sure you guys have all seen that snippet I took from NY Gov Cuomo's press conferences where they were asking people who came into the hospitals sick, what they had been doing prior to getting sick, and his own stats showed 66% of those getting sick had been... STAYING HOME. So basically, politicians were telling people exactly the opposite of what they should have been doing. And we wonder how we got to where we are with this thing...

Ok, cool - go get that vaccine and be happy about it. Why shame someone else who chooses not to? Are you now afraid that your vaccine will not work if you come in contact with someone who is not vaccinated? Did we ever shame people into getting flu shots like this? ABC’s story today on the new variant pointed out the issues they are having tracking it because of the reluctance of people to get tested… 😂 On a side note, my 82 year old mom has a few friends who have tested positive recently and are getting sick, that is the high risk population…

Another time two of us cut down a 13.5” track to 13” and met a few guys who were riding for lunch at a local place… they were already pouring them down at noon and when they told me where there next stop was I said “you guys better pace yourselves”. Got this pic the next morning, they didn’t take my advice… the guy who crashed was a rookie, his wife said no more snowmobiling and we never saw him again.

A buddy was a little hung over one morning and drifted off the trail enough to clip a tree - amazingly this was the only thing he broke… this actually worked! He rode it home like this… albeit at a much slower pace.

I'm too old to need a safety certificate - At least in MN if you were a certain age when they started requiring that for minors you were grandfathered in. Similar story about the same year in fact - went up to a buddies cabin and was there 2-3 hours before the rest. When they showed up cans fell out of the truck, and they were HAMMERED. Finished a case between 2 of them on the way up. One of the guys has a BRAND NEW ZRT, .4 miles on it or something stupid. I told him he should wait to ride it - yeah that went over like a ton of bricks. 4 miles in, he passes me on a straight section of a curvy trail in the woods - I knew it, not 3 corners later there he is standing next to the sled mashed up against a tree with a cig in hand, - TOTALED that thing in less than 5 miles. I wouldn't even help get it towed back - fuck those guys, us two early arrivals who hadn't had a drink yet just left those two morons at the tree with a busted sled.
