Cool!! I've been looking through the performance manuals and parts diagrams, I've noticed quite a bit of changes from 91 to 92. The suspension was all different, the skid was totally different. I noticed the pipe being different also, you can visibly see the difference. I'd be interested in the 91 pipe but I can't imagine ever actually using it. I like the 92 because it has the fixed windshield and I was never a fan of the turning windshields. It's interesting, all the old cat advertisements and even the 92 cat "action" promo video show the 92 with the turning windshield. Same with bosscat legacy site. It must have been a very late change. There's so little info and recognition of these sleds. Even in the Cat history books I have, the ZR overshadows anything in this time frame so nothing else gets mentioned. I kind of like that they're a super niche/forgotten sled that most people don't even know about. I'm excited to ride this thing, we have a blast on our fan coolers in this chassis so this will be similar but also very different. Do you know the difference in cylinders? The 93-94 had different cylinders, then the 95 had its own cylinder also (that sled has small carbs for new rules). I should probably just leave the sled be but I wonder if bolting a later cylinder on would be an easy bump up in power. Country cat has 2 nos 95 cylinders for cheap, like 200 each.

The ext specials did also. The 90 ext special was the first production sled to come with Fox shocks and they had reservoir (at least in front) I've been in talks with a local guy for a few years that had some nos shocks still in the wrappers, I finally got them after getting the prowler. When are you going to find that again? I put a little lighter spring on them, it is so heavily sprung that I can put my full weight on the front end and it doesn't even move. I just got it running good now, it barely ran when I got it. I don't know the full story but pretty sure the people couldn't get it running right and it got dumped by a few people out of frustration, I can see there are new parts like they were trying to get it working. The mag side crank seal was completely shot, falling apart and holes in it. There are 91 carbs on it that I suspect they swapped in to try to fix it but didn't know the needle jets are different. They had the right needles for 92 but I can tell the carbs are 91 and the needle jets were what 91's used. And that really made a huge difference. Even after the crank seals it would only run at idle and at wide open. I was happy to figure that out and now it runs mint on the stand.
