We will hold republican's feet to the fire

Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) on Wednesday persuaded GOP lawmakers to postpone a vote on a measure to bring back legislative earmarks. "Based on the comments by members, it was likely that an earmark amendment would have passed," a GOP source in the room told The Hill. "Ultimately, the speaker stepped in and urged that we not make this decision today.” "We just had a 'drain the swamp' election," Ryan said in a private meeting of the House Republican conference, according to CNN. "Let's not just turn around and bring back earmarks two weeks later."

Certain members can take this as a marker... :news:

If these dipshits in congress didn't get the fucking message we sent last week, they do it at their own demise.

Looks like Paul Ryan has a shred of common sense left. What a bunch of tards for even suggesting that vote...

He has a long way to go to prove to me it isn't just political expediency.

I'd like to think you are correct but I suspect it will be business as usual. This is like the philandering spouse getting caught, they're good for a month then its back to business as usual.

trump can drain as many swamps as he wants. if wages still suck in 4 years he's one and done.

If wages sucked when Bush left office and, according to you, wages still suck now....then how did Obama get 2 terms?

Sure, but the premise he made that decision under was not because he was against but because they are afraid for their jobs. We need better representation...

Who's wages?  Public sector? Private sector?  Upper middle class?  Lower middle class?  Union or non-union?  Does everybody need to make more in the next 4 years?

While I disagree that spending isn't an issue spin is right on this.  Jobs and income going up are most important with the working class that won Trump the election.   Lets be real they voted for libs since Reagan so govt spending isn't that huge to this group of voters.    A surprisingly high number of people are concerned with one thing, what their hourly wage or weekly salary is on their check stub.
