They are in the process of buying Cat from Textron.   Recently Deeres social media pages have been advertising that they used to make snowmobiles, they also came out with a line of retro JD snowmobile appeal.  They are creating buzz and excitement around the nostalgia of the brand before announcing they are getting back into the sport by acquiring Cat

ikr, but the SX sleds make more power, they don't make adult windshields for them and unlike an XC sled there's always the looming engine burn down... and premixing the fuel.

The wet brains that buy them and don't race them put like 7 miles a year on them, so who cares if it makes more power when the only stuff you are doing with it is hop the occasional drift and poorly jump a few approaches?

Sadly, you aren’t all wrong but, it allows for some sweet sleds to be picket up third hand….if you want some shit some half-wit bought from a race team and didn’t know wtf he was doing.

There are so many used SX sleds on Marketplae right now.  Probably as many or more then just regular ZR6000's of all types some days.

That's what your brother gets for trying to low ball me!

I sold this sexy, finely tuned piece of art to him, you cheeseheads turned it into a rope riding toboggan in less than a month!

clearly he doesn't possess my stellar negotiation skills as I would have gotten a pit coat, prime choice of the croc collection and a home cooked meal out of you.  had he also told me he was even looking at it, considering a purchase and sent a picture of it I would have stopped him dead in his tracks as one should never purchase a sled that spends the majority of it's life on a display stand like a piece of delicate jewelry, has never been run over 6,200 rpm or fed a diet of Amsoil.  if the sled had been ridden like it wasn't in break-in mode a factory fuck up would have already been found by a more keen and attentive owner.

but on a serious note, when he backed his truck into my driveway, dropped the gate like a proud parent and I said 'call the guy who you bought this from immediately' the look on his face was priceless.  then you and I had a good laugh about how small the world really is.

XC, or SX?
Did it happen to a sx guy in the midwest too?  Or do we both know the same racer from my part of the country?
Two production years, around a decade apart, I've had race sleds come out of the crate with large hunks of polishing media (from ceramic coating the pipe), stuck in the pipe.  They get wedged in-between the tail cone, and internal section of the stinger then come free in shipping, and when you start the sled.  Makes a mess of the engine when they get back into the combustion chamber.

The most recent time I caught before starting the sled, its amazing how many times you can hit the pipe with a hammer, and rattle more of them free.

XC, one of the racers out of MN.

I'd have to look back, but I think my 2012 (maybe 08?) to told us to take the pipe off and smack it around with a rubber mallet to knock crap the ceramic coating process caused off the inside of it.

I always remove the pipe now and give it a few taps and a shake on new sleds.

It only took a few miles. I think the sled committed suicide because of the windshield that was put on it. I found it odd being towed out by a 720 Sno pro mod being on a stocker

It was used to being hammered on properly by a man not afraid of wind.  I think your suicide theory may hold water.

I should have just shot it in the head and burned it so it could die with dignity!

i don't think it ever had the belt go more than 1/2" into the sheaves under the previous owner... engine flaws don't show up while being displayed as art work.

windshield related engine stress... that's a new one!   did you read that on a Polaris forum?

Somehow this dumpster fire helped fuel fake rumors all around the internet.  Summer time I suppose the sled media could use some clicks and buzz

There’s a lot of people “in the know” talking about what’s going on too…
