They are worst thing in the world to work on them. I hate them

First wrenching I ever got paid for was on those things..  Starters/bendixes/carbs part time in the summer.  I needed beer money, no one else was willing to work on them

My dealer is one of the few shops that work on them if they are over 5 years in the area. He charges an obnoxious labor fee but they usually pay it as no one else in the area will touch them

Well Honda (somehow) made absolute shit piles for jet skis. Speaking of jet skis I think they’re useless but I want an all red Daytona 1000 bad

First jet ski I ever rode. My now brother in law worked at TSS and brought home a couple jet skis for us goons to ride, probably not the best starter for my tippy ass. The other one was a Monte Carlo or montego, better for a newbie.

The slx was the one to have of that era. I wanted one when I was younger. Really nice ski. Now that I am old and haggard I could care less to own any boat or jetski.

As a kid we had a 93 Polaris SL 750 that was a constant headache. After that we went to Yamaha for PWC and never looked back.

Gunner pushing the rumor on the podcast this week after giving some solid confirming info last week with the textron CEO in TRF

Maybe textron ceo is helping JD fix their new pile crap mega combine that puts more crop on the ground than it collects

Maybe its strategic because silage is worth more than the actual grain

Plants quickly every fall saving you millions in fuel costs since you just need a planter/combine now

Jd also got burnt when case bought out raven that jd was working with for an automis drive system. Textron had a greens king 5 that could do that but never brought it to market as it was so stupidly expensive back in the early 2000s

Have you been hearing anything from your side? The dealer ship for JD in that whole region is true north. I asked a few people and they don’t think jd is buying cat.

The guys I've spoken to are saying no, but I doubt anyone at cat would know anyway.

The whole division would be TSV:
Arctic Cat
Cushman (golf carts for industrial use) https://cushman.txtsv.com/
Ezgo (golf carts) https://ezgo.txtsv.com/
Textron GSE (tug, airport equipment) https://textrongse.txtsv.com/
Jacobson (turf equipment) https://www.jacobsen.com/
Kaute
x (fuel systems, diesel emissions stuff, clear vision for automous driving)  https://www.kautex.com/en

Notice what kautex offers. Jd was balls deep in a automus program with raven until cnh bought them out and screwed over jd.

If JD is buying the whole TSV division, I gotta imagine they'll still do a better job with Cat than Textron has. Maybe I'm being too optimistic, but the sudden appearance of sled apparel on the JD website at least suggests they may be willing to invest in snowmobiles.

so is Schuering

The great thing for me is, even when they first come out, the “quirks” they face on the track won’t really matter and I should have my pick.  The 17 SX had all kinds of “issues” that didn’t have any consequence for me.  That was still the best trail beast I’ve ever ridden.  Course, it did melt down on me so…..damn Arctic Cat!!!!!!

everytime I consider picking up a used SX sled to trail convert, common sense takes over.  but at times I can see the amusement factor being high.

have you tried ordering a John Deere pit coat yet?

I don’t do much conversion at all.  I get the rears off to Carver and that’s about it now.  Even running race fuel now.  Haven’t even done that for my 23 yet.  Course….not enough seat time on it to really decide what needs to be done.

By the time you truly trail convert a SX sled, you are miles ahead just buying a XC sled and changing the gearing.
