Its quite possible that he is. If this was the only topic he sounded retarded on I might give him the benefit of the doubt but there is too much retardation he has put out there to not believe that he most likely is retarded.

I believe he still thinks the Covid vaccine will stop the spread too

Russia will attempt to burn Ukraine into a slave camp. They’ll be fighting an asymmetrical war for many years to come. IED’s and snipers chiseling away at the ranks. The Russians have created so much hate that there will never be stability.

It seems the reasonable path, there isn’t anything that the current Ukrainian war offers Russia.  If you look at the geography everything Russia desires lays beyond Ukrainian boarders.   Russian hasn’t gained any strategic advantage with what they have in Ukraine.

Russia didn't want Ukraine in the NATO and Zelenskyy was spouting off in Dec 2021 about taking back Crimea.  Taking Ukraine gives them what they want in regards to NATO and geographically.   It would make no sense taking on NATO and embroiling the world in WW3.

Are you overlooking the fact that in the area's they have taken the 50% of the locals support them?

Yet I do agree they will deal with what they will call terrorist attacks in those areas for yrs to come.

One mans terrorist is another man's patriot.

The US took down the capital city of Iraq in 6 days in spite of being thousands of miles away from the war front. That was facing the 5 largest army in the world. Russia has yet to take down the capital city of Ukraine despite one gigantic effort that ended in misery for them. Russian war plan in Ukraine is the same as it’s always been through modern history. Throw enough people at the war with no regard to their safety or adequate support. Russia has lost almost all there best personnel. It will take them a decade to recover. It’ll take them 5-8 years to replace what they’ve lost in armor and ammo.

Yup, along with no resources or strategic areas gained.  It was a pretty big flop for Russia.  NATO gained a couple countries as a result as well.

It was to be over in two weeks, how come it took so long?  :dunno:

Neal

Covid was supposed to be over after two weeks to flatten the curve as well.

Any thoughts to why that didn't happen?

Putin could have taken out Ukraine anytime he wanted, the longer it went the more Biden looks like a failure.

They don’t want Ukraine, and they couldn’t even take it.  The areas that support and are in Russian control were already Russian functioning points.  Again, Russia gained zero strategic points and lost massive swaths of personnel and equipment.  It was a massive blunder for Russia.

Not saying it wasn't a blunder or they made gains.   Just saying they never had intentions of going beyond Ukraine and the casualty lists are likely on the low estimates not the high.  It cost them financially more than in lives lost.

Ukraine and Russia are as much alike culturally as any 2 countries in the world,

Yeah everyone likes long protracted costly wars instead.  Especially the ones where you weren't actually able to change the leadership of the country that you didn't want joining NATO, that now absolutely will, along with two others who already have. Three more countries joining NATO was all part of the special military operations plan!

Sure they did, Russia had every intention of being on the lines with NATO.

Russia is going to have a rough go.  The death vs birth rate is off a cliff.

It made zero sense, but alas Russia seems to love misery.

Many countries are like that.

It made sense to keep NATO further from their borders.

Ukraine is fucked. Their population has dropped by nearly half and their breeding age of males is basically gone

They haven't lost that many either but enough of their country is rubble that it will take decades to rebuild.

But they made the opposite happen, and taking Ukraine would put Russia right at NATO’s border.  You can’t have it both ways, Russia wanting control of Ukraine and Russia wanting NATO further from their borders.   Any conflict with Ukraine brings NATO closer to the border.
