Photo by Anthony Quintano/CC 2.0 Amid social media-induced traffic jams, the towns of Pomfret and Woodstock plan to close roads this fall leading to a popular foliage photo op. Pomfret’s picturesque Sleepy Hollow Farm has featured in films and magazines for years. The property’s winding driveway leads downhill past a small pond to a weathered barn and farmhouse, backed by grassland and a wooded hillside. Photographers tend to congregate on the road looking over and above the Disneyworld version of Vermont.

From what I understand the only place that comes close to New England fall colors is parts of Japan.

While I love the beauty and 4 seasons ambience of living in New England, fuck me with the leave. I keep a burn pit down back for getting rid of most of them. Next house will not be around any mature leaves, and all the bullshit that entails.

Nice living in a secluded wooded lot, but damn it is a lot of work. Two solid months of dealing with them. I am using my tractor to plow them in the woods by the end of fall. Bontz
That picture is awesome... just another reason why I love the Fall season. I do agree with others though, who hate the clean up associated with the leaves.

Maybe they have one.

I've seen the push behind ones for rent, but not the self propelled jobs. They do have amazing power though. My yard is too hilly to be wrestling with anything i have to push. I have a Stihl handheld and a backpack blower that is pretty powerful, but then I hire a landscape company to come in late in the fall to clean everything up and take the leaves away. Works good without the need for extra equipment like that big blower. Edited September 11, 2023 by racer254

Rest I push into woods with plow. At least I don’t have to bag them!!! You’re talking about thousands of pounds of leaves. We are surrounded by huge mature oaks. 7 minutes ago, SkisNH said: I don't care I'm laughing at them...they didn't even leave a buffer from the road. Seem nice enough, but definitely hard core libs. He thought he was going to do his lot with a battery push mower. . I think one time of seeing me blow around on my tractor he ditched the battery push for a JD .
