Seems far fetched to me but then again I drive boats in bumfuck nowhere for a living.

A new study has left scientists surprised and concerned after it was found that humans have pumped out so much groundwater in the past two decades that it has shifted the tilt of the Earth’s axis. According to the findings of the research published in Geophysical Research Letters, a journal by the American Geophysical Union, the Earth has tilted as much as 80 centimetres (31.5 inches) between 1993 and 2010, which has been attributed to humans pumping out groundwater and moving it elsewhere.

I'm getting shit for service at the lake this morning... but toss Three Gorges Dam Earths Rotation into your search engine.

How many jillion gallons of water are just sitting in pipes waiting to be used every day in the United States?  I'm sure it's a lot...

Yes , it seems like a lot …..it isn’t even one single piss in a pond compared to the volume of surface water on earth or the mass of even the top 3’ of the crust layer of earth. It’s so infinitely tiny there no way it has this type of impact

55-60% of the human body is water and with about 8 billion of us on the wobbling off axis earth it would probably be a good idea if a lot of people would just go ahead and KILL THEMSELVES

also of note... sinkholes

everytime we suck water, oil or fluids from beneath the earths surface it creates a void that has the potential to cave in... this is where we should be putting our excessive amount of trash, waste and debris.

here's looking at you Florida

another Desantis failure...

Did you even watch the video or just post it because it said sinkhole?

The cause listed in the video doesn't match what you said causes them.

Damn republican.

couldn't get the entire video to load as LTE here is sketchy.

there's actually a few reasons... pay attention.

A sinkhole occurs when the land above an underground cavity collapses. When humans drain the aquifer, it leaves open space underground where the water drained from. Typically, groundwater supports the earth above it, but without the water the land weakens and is susceptible to collapse. The correlation between sinkholes and draining the aquifer is why we see so many sinkholes in areas that require heavy irrigation, like farms, ranches, large grassy sports fields, and residential areas. A study back in 1982 conducted by the U.S. Geological Survey concluded that there was a direct relationship between the number of sinkholes and the draining of the aquifer, specifically in the Tampa Bay, FL area. While this study was almost forty years ago, it’s discoveries hold true today. Few actions have been made to course-correct overusing the aquifer, and today Florida still favors development over environmental health.

Pasco county where my grandparents lived for 30+ years has issues... Zephyrhills Bottled Water (the town they liven in) helped accelerate draining the natural aquifers of Pasco county.  there's cases similar all over Florida but to say anything is caused by humans all 22M of them in Florida would be taboo.

so in a nutshell... Most of the planets problems are caused by people, and to be concise... too fuckin many people.

There’s nothing we can do about it…..the population has always been increasing……it’s part of the plan…..government will want to tax population growth…..signed your fellow Repugs
