Poor obsessed Dave.  Rent free.

No one wants you on TBP.  Why would I regret that?  You showed your true colors, and many decided they didn't want assholes like you on the forum.  Winning.

Shut it shortsale.

I use to be a little pissed off about taxes. But we had a couple of major hospital stays in our immediate family a few years back.

I realized how much that would have cost in the excited states.

By this year I'll have two kids with degrees from good Universities. Living and Tuition cost us a total of $60,000.00 for each for a four year degree. That is because the system is partially subsidized. More so for families making less than 150 grand but whatever, if those kids help the economy, great.

Also I look around and see how much money I've been able to make with a reasonably well educated work force, reliable electrical grid and road system. A competent and mostly corruption free police force protecting my business and house. It means that I don't have to live in a gated community to keep me safe from people who aren't as well off.

Great, compare our health care system to the US when the American has zero insurance.  Cause every American is losing everything when they visit the ER.:dunno:

Our system is great when you have a fairly common problem, not so when someone is spending 6-12 month trying to figure it out going through numerous referrals with different specialists until someone finally gets it.  I guess you haven't had a loved one go through that.

Fed, state and local I paid over 50%.   It's completely out of hand.   I'm so fucking sick of hearing from the left that people don't pay their fair share and how federal tax rates are not high enough.   Sorry you dumb fucks but federal taxes are not the only taxes we pay.

So what you are saying is CRA is 'just kidding' about interest on overdue personal taxes starting May 1.

No stupid. I filed in March and sent them in. I get my first bill a few weeks later then I pay it. No interest because it's paid before may 1st.

I don't wanna even ask how (why) you did that.  I sat pretty firmly in the 15-20% range in my big earning days.  My wife is the only woman I've been with longer than my accountant. I sometimes wonder who I would pick if I had to chose one.  I love them both...for different reasons.  My accountant is more valuable, but she lacks the looks.

There are a lot of taxes you cannot really do much of anything about.  Sales, property, FICA, fuel, communications, travel.   I'm talking about adding ALL taxes in and it adds up in a hurry.   My effective fed rate is generally in the upper 20% to low 30% range.  Generally speaking I don't write off a lot of stuff that many do.   Its just not worth the hassle if you are audited.

I'll bet you are much higher when adding it all in.

So, send a check post dated April 30 with your return instead of trying to be an internet hero.  Is your return different from you NOA?  Mine has been to the penny for better than 20 years.

CRA does not give a crap so long as its paid before May 1.

Oh....for sure.  I just thought you were doing income tax. I've been "soft" audited about a half a dozen years when I was "earning".  It just told me I was doing it correctly.  My instructions to my accountant were, I want all the black and gray, the IRS can have the red...and ask me for some of the gray back if they want.  I got hosed pretty bad one year though due to a stock sell mistake...my bad.  DAMN IT!  Those fines and penalties along with the interest I didn't know they were charging while I was pleading/fighting my case were amazing.  I got ripped up the middle and didn't even get a chance to "grease my crease".  Imagine if was a member of a Tea Party or something!  HOLY SHIT!  Crooked fuckers.

My accountant told me if CRA (IRS) was not asking questions, he wasn't doing his job.

No I haven't experienced that. But if it is something that complicated, who is to say that it would be found out in the US>

For as many stories of Canadians dying on wait lists there are more stories of people suffering because they don't meet the criteria for treatment.

The health care is a huge part of it but that isn't part of my everyday life. On a daily basis living in a safe country where politicians aren't owned by the NRA does more to enhance my way of life.

Sure if it was handled better we could pay less taxes but you are free to head south and take your chances with the cheato.

That's why I said fed, state and local.  Not many places have local income taxes.

...and yet you people still do not pay close to what is being spent at all levels of government. Think the military really needs a budget increase?

I've been stating for years on here that the military budget should be cut.   I'd love to see it go down as far as 1% of GDP.   All except the VA and pay for soldiers.  I also pay extremely close attention to where our tax dollars go.  SMH.   I think you got me confused with liberals.
