Canadian wall coming?

Recommended Posts

Well now, whats going on here?

Despite subzero temperatures, mountains of snow, and the risk of deportation, hundreds of illegal immigrants have begun pouring across the United States border into Canada to seek asylum. Desperate individuals and families from the Middle East, Africa and Latin America are giving up on America and have begun to cross the border at rates Canada has never seen before.

While the rate of those seeking asylum in Canada rose from 2015 to 2016, there has been a noticeable spike since the beginning of 2017. abc News reported:

North of the eastern U.S. in Quebec—where Canadian authorities say there’s been the biggest rise in illegal crossings—the number of asylum claims by people who crossed over legally and illegally more than tripled in January 2017 compared to a year earlier, authorities said.In January of this year, there were 452 asylum claims at Quebec’s land border, compared to 137 in the same month in 2016 and 46 claims in January 2015. …Canadian police described the daily crossing numbers as fluctuating, but said in the last six months it’s seen crossings in some areas increase from about one to two people per day up to 19 a day.

It's simple... the people that are illegally in the US with out any regard for US immigration laws are now anticipating possible deportation. Just like they haven't any respect for the US laws they also don't have any respect for Cdn immigration laws either. They have also learned that the bleeding heart government will give them a free relatively lucrative ride for a full year if they show up and say I'm a refugee.

Refugees receive nearly $2,500 in monthly assistance,  much more than the maximum amount Old Age Pension recipients can collect. Ottawa gives refugees a “monthly pension” of $1,890, plus $580 in social aid, for a total of $2,470 per month or nearly $29,000 per year. On top of that they receive even more if they have kids. They will also receive a federal child allowance for each kid. How much free money are they getting as illegal immigrants in the US?

Those #s are not accurate whatsoever....a simple Google search will show that that amount is a one time payment.

One time... yup $29,000.00 Federal money once, for the first year. Nobody said that free Federal money was forever. Now that the 25,000 refugees Trudope had to rush in have run out of that first year federal money most are getting provincial money (aka welfare). Large numbers are also claiming they are suffering from anxiety and depression and getting free medical treatment and medication for that as well. They still get the federal child allowance though.

BS Dave, You're wrong. At least according to a spokesperson for Citizenship and Immigration Canada ... those 25,000 that Trudope hustled in a little over a year ago were sponsored for a year by the Federal government. Government-assisted refugees get help through the federal Resettlement Assistance Program.

That support is generally available for up to a year. The maximum amount provided is $25,000 per family. That includes a one-time start up payment to help refugees establish a household in Canada, as well as monthly income support, a spokesperson for Citizenship and Immigration Canada said

Citizenship and Immigration Canada estimates that an individual in Ontario would receive roughly $2,065 in a one-time start-up allowance, to cover things such as basic household needs, furniture, winter clothing and telephone installation if a landline is chosen.

That is a seperate program, one must qualify for ahead of time.  Dave is correct.

And what did those 25,000 refugees Trudope hustled in get? Where does it say that a REFUGEE has to register in advance for the program. If they walk across the border and declare they are a refugee you're suggesting they get treated differently than any other refugee and are left to fend for themselves essentially.

It seems that the end result of applying for refugee status from within Canada is the same as applying from outside of Canada and the CRB will hear your refugee claim within 60 days when applying within Canada. At least according to the Canadian Government.

There are only so many government assisted spots and even if you were to be provided government assistance it is variable.  Your assertions are simply incorrect and based on your own preconceived bigotry.

Most refugees including the Syrians were privately sponsored.

What are you on. Trudopes 25000 were not privately sponsored with a few minor exceptions from small groups such as churches . I said they can get $25k federal money and according to a immigration Canada spokesman that is accurate

Actually a lot of them are legally in the US but are not yet US citizens. They are scared they will be kicked out before becoming citizens

All you need is proper vetting. Nothing to worry about....

Yep...Canada you can have them! We'll start making it easier for them to get north of our border. Maybe start bus tours like it's election season only we'll dump them off just south of your border and have them cross on foot
