Can't wait!

Recommended Posts

Two days ago, Germany’s second-largest town of Hamburg told residents to prepare for hot-water rationing during certain times of the day due to “an acute gas shortage.”

Now, Germany’s largest landlord has warned tenants that when the heating season starts in autumn, they will only be able to turn their heat up to 17C (62.6F) between the hours of 11pm and 6am.

(On top of that:)

Vonovia’s announcement comes after it emerged that a housing co-op in Saxony had taken drastic steps to minimise energy use in its buildings – including turning off the hot water for several hours a day.

The move means tenants of Dippoldiswalde Housing Cooperative can only take warm showers in the early mornings and late afternoons on the weekdays. The heating systems are also set to remain off until September. -The Local

Right now Biden is telling you Putin is the cause for inflation, the US economy is better than it has ever been and that he 'created' millions of jobs. We have been told by his administration we need to hold the line on high gas prices for the good of the liberal world order.

Meh.. mean tweets suck...

I can't imagine why anyone would be surprised what is happening in Germany.

Too much, too fast.

They shut down nuclear after Fukushima.  They did that surprisingly fast.

Tried to shut down their brown coal power.  The idea of running industry on renewable had some merit, but they still needed backup power.

They took the fast, easy way to fill the gaps with Russian supply.

Cruddy group of decisions that all piled together for this situation.  Sadly, they also relied on a stable situation in Eastern Europe.  The politicians and energy advisors should have spent a little more time in the same room before deciding to go this route.  The fix isn't going to be so fast.

I'd also caution anyone that thinks we are immune to the situation.  There is good reason why our leaders care what happens over there.

So trump was right when he told them that in no uncertain terms, and everybody laughed because they had no understanding on the subject at hand. Especially the germans themselves as they laughed the loudest.

Trump was much smarter than anyone gave him credit, especially with overseas dealings and had a vision for the future.

I think you are giving him a little more credit than he might deserve.  Their propaganda for the shift began in the mid 1970s.  Coal mining and nuclear were targets.  Fukushima accelerated the nuclear shift in 2011.

They may have been laughing, but I wouldn't give or take credit for where that was directed.

The Germans were playing with two sets of rule makers.  Both groups were damn scared about the tiny P man under the bear.  They knew that peace in the region was essential to keep their power flowing and fuel an economy.  The other set had an agenda they were willing to push at any risk or cost.  Both sets of rule makers had a love hate relationship with our crazy T man.  He did nothing for peace or war short term.  His love affair with the tiny P man allowed the gas to flow fast and cheap while the dude slowly crept across his old stomping grounds.  With T & P in charge, both sets of rule makers got what they wanted.
