Public school teachers.

I'm friends with many of them and the thing they always say is we need parents more involved in kids schoolwork.   Many times public school kids fall behind because some parents are as attentive to helping or making sure homework is done.  Unfortunately this sometimes becomes an even bigger issue as income levels decrease.

My oh my how things have changed since COVID.  The same parents who are always involved in their kids schoolwork they want to shut up.  FUBAR.

The divorce rate has nothing to do with this.

Oh it does 100%, being a single parent is not easy by any means, I am one, but I'm fully involved in my kids lives..Thing I'm most proud of in my life is being a father

No, I know, and thank you. Being single for over a decade, what shocked me, how many chicks don't see or have their kids,..It's not only "dead beat dads" out their anymore..I would guess it's close to 60/40-50/50 at this point.

Who the fuck would want to be a teacher? Starting pay sucks and the work environment is even worse. It attracts mostly wackos because of how shitty the work can be. Granted, there's some decent districts, but its getting harder to find them.

In the district where I lived starting was $33-38k per year. That's master's prepared.

You said starting salary, I didn't see that.. But current GF is at 87k, helped her with her taxes last week. She's 44, quite a bit of additional education. We talked a month or so ago about her getting an administrative degree, said min with that was 113k and she can still do what she does, not even take the position, but get paid that much..But straight up she has a head on her shoulders and kicks ass, cares about the kids..

Not including benefits, paid time off, pension , no accountability for job performance and a whopping 180 daze of so called work .

If it was such a great gig we wouldn’t have the big teacher shortages, now would we?

If more money equals better results why are students failing in the highest paid city’s?
