I don't know the answer but it just seems unfair to the driver and the fans to not see the best 4 drivers over the season going at it for the championship. More points to the winner? It be like the year Truex won after winning pretty much 1/3rd of the races for the entire schedule and running top 5 or top 10 in a majority of the rest of them. There should be no reason he was ever in a position to loose the championship that year, yet he was. Or the year Kryle won his first.
