Joe Gibbs is 77....he is well set into the future. He seems to be in great shape but now much longer will he run things...if those youngsters have 10 year careers (which is conservative) he will be pushing 90!

Richard Childress is 72

Rick Hendrick is 69

Jack Roush is 76

Nascar needs an infusion of new blood  in the owner department.

Could make for some good early crashes.

No Shit....wonder what kind of changes he wants at Hendrick?

Can't blame him for hating the TV gig especially considering how good the new NBC team is doing.

BTW this Busch/ Erik Jones battle in the truck race is pretty good right now. They are almost 13 seconds ahead of third place and Shrub is now pulling away....

Many of these driver change deals focus upon what Truex  will do . SHR - Ford wants him bad , but someone will have to go , Kurt Busch. The Dillion brats are staying put , till dick takes his last breath in francecar. Newman wants to go back to SHR or Penske with his sponsor  package in tow , that will put RCR in a bad financial bind . Kurt Busch took a pay cut in his one year deal at SHR. If ?? Truex  jumps to another ride who will get his ??  , a young wheel man or a veteran that might still produce top 10's or wins ??  Jimmy Johnson and his on paper car owner Jeff Gordon are very pissed off over his last two and a half years of on track performance , but he is under a new contract a Hendrick.   Ejr. , would like to jump up into the big show with  1-2 cars but his sister/ business manager / team partner, plus his new wife  , say don't do it. Any driver today or going forward will have a blinking red exit sign on him at age 40 and up for any top tier ride , unless you are winning multi races  and getting top 10's. imo

So if Busch leaves SHR and Newman wants back in with his Cat sponsorship do Tony/Gene say yes or does Truex come aboard without sponsorship? Also I think Dale Jr. should listen to his family and stick with Xfinity.

E-Jr would be stupid to try to build a Cup team.  Not saying he couldn't do it, but a lot of financial risk.  Could be a interesting silly season to see who comes and who goes.

The ownership group probably needs some new blood, but I'm going to say some of the drivers probably should consider moving on as well.  It would be interesting if NASCAR actually enforced the 2 cars per owner rule.

I think if Truex came onboard, SHR would help find additional sponsorship.

Imo , Truex  can get sponsorship dollars for SHR because of his on track results, plus on camera corporate interviews . Ejr. has always listened to his sister, they are very tight. ( You are aware she was a very talented driver and beat Ejr at many short track venues . E.sr would have none of it for her to move up  ) plus his new wife. I can't tell what will happen with Newman , he tends to run the cars way over their limits trying to catch a win. Maybe Newman will take Cat to the Toyota- Truex ride if he jumps to another team ??  Twilight of his wheeling days re- birth ??

I didn't realize she was a racer as well...I did know that she used to be married to crew chief Jimmy Elledge and their two kids are racers.

She used to beat the boys all the time, Ejr  lost a couple of  local short track races to her as she was wheeling under a assumed  name and trying to dress / look like one of the guys for cover. Ejr thought it was a total hoot on his dad . Esr. found out about it in person , and blew a gasket. Plus the cars she was driving came from a different shop, paid from her and Ejr's pockets to ad to his spewing steam. He never ever thought a female should  race a car. Just like King Richard.

With all these good cars at the back of the field she's a real crap shoot for picks.

Those cars that were sent to the back just blew through the field...basically qualifying is irrelevant. Harvick with a 2 second lead...how exciting.

JGR & SHR seem to have the field covered this year.
