Narrowing down my choice for a trail machine for next season.

XCR 136

Assault 146

What do you guys figure are the pros and cons of two track lengths for trail riding?  I've heard the longer tracks are pretty good on the trail but I'd like to hear from those of you who actually have them.

Assault all day long.  Tipped rails make it handle like a shorter sled.

Have you trail ridden a machine with rails that long? No issues with pushing?

Yeah I owned an Assault for a season and a half.  No issues with pushing, then again, there is literally no short tracks that we ride with.

I had a 144 and didn't like it for trails.  136 all day long for trails love me those Renegades.

Mind expanding on what you didn't like?

My particular sled was a 121 sled stretched to a 144.  It was also a 600 and clutching wasn't spot on, and had low gears.  Not any comparison to an Assault by any means.  But it pushed in corners and I could cruise at 70 but I've owned several 136 sleds and I can't say too much bad about any of them, also I've owned 30 or so 121 sleds.  My fav for the trails is the 136 although we own 2 short tracks right now.

A 2.52 144 also starts getting to be a really heavy track

at that point is rather have a 146

That might be an issue for a cat 800 ....not for motors that actually make 163hp though

I’m with Zam for real railing twisties a 129-137 is best

watching my buddies with assaults work their asses off in the corner while I just sit there in on my cat nonchalantly keeping up makes me sweat
