So What? George Bush killed twice that amount of civilians in Iraq in a very short time and you'd lick his toilet seat if he asked you.

You mean George Bush, the US Congress, the UN, Britain, Saudi Arabia, ad nauseum.......... oh.. and Canada. There now.

Shame!

You know Fail hasn't been there... he thinks this for profit tourist hospital is a typical Cuban hospital where the website is in either Arabic or English but not Spanish. That isn't Miguel and Consuela coming out the front door.

Meanwhile this is the reality of life in Cuba

and washing latex gloves for reuse by the doctors and nurses

Those are hospitals for the Cuban people. Truly disgusting conditions.

Canadas involvement in Iraq has only been recent. We had nothing to do with Bushes Iraq. We were busy in Afghanistan.

I'm only talking about a short time. If we followed US bad deeds from the time Castro was in power, we would have to discuss millions of dead. Supporting the Shah in Iran, Supporting Saddam in his war against Iran which killed over 1 million.

The point is that the word remarkable isn't wrong.

I'm sure that many Cubans love him. I'm also sure that many would have put a bullet in his head given the chance.

It's funny how American's completely drink the koolaid regarding Cuba.

Castro is a purely evil dictator while the  Bush family hold hands with the Saudi Royal family.

Trudeau will not attend Castro Funeral.

Anyone watch the coverage of Cuba today (non-American news) seems some have a very different view of their leader

You do realize that the people in Cuba have lived their entire lives in a regime where saying anything anti state lands them in jail. If you had ever been there you would realize they don't say much about the government and their lives to the tourists.... why... fear of landing in prison. Those who have escaped and aren't afraid to express how they feel are open about it.

If North Korea had a tropical climate Nook apologists would be lying to themselves about Kim Kung Foo being a great guy too. Not being stuck in a winter wasteland craving sun sure puts on the geopolitical blinders.

Unfortunately there must be something in the water up here that make people vote Liberal. :wall:

Well we haven't stopped being friends with Cuba ever, back in the day of missile crisis JD our PM at the time who was very conservative told the USA sorry we have no problem with Cuba.  It started with the Conservatives, weird eh

Korea isn't cuba,  :dunno:

How come USA deals with Japan? only country to attack US soil as far as I know.  Yet Japan is cool now, Cuban cigars bad.

That would have been true 20 or more years ago. But things have changed big time since Castros brother took over. Still a long ways to go but it's much better than it was.

They hate whoever they are told to hate, been that way for centuries (not that other countries aren't the exact same).  In the land of the free its not legal to fly to Cuba, well until today when the first commercial airline took off for Cuba sunshine.
